Hi Connor!
Your video had a strong, suspenseful tone, almost like a trailer for an alien invasion or an apocalyptic event. The pacing and imagery built tension effectively, it forced me to feel the weight of the unknown. The theme to me felt like it explored how media portrays events beyond human understanding and how we process the impact of such portrayals. The sequence of images contributed well to this narrative of both the beauties of the unknown and the intimidating portion of it. Many of the chosen photos added depth, enhancing the eerie and thought-provoking atmosphere of only knowing what’s already in the public. The progression of visuals felt intentional and kept me engaged. However, one image—Stargazing Night Gathering—stood out due to its aspect ratio, which slightly disrupted the overall flow of your video. In the future, I would consider ensuring a consistent formatting across all images to maintain the engaged aspect from your audience. The timing and pacing of the edits aligned well with the suspenseful mood. The transitions were smooth, helping the video flow naturally. A small suggestion I’d consider to enhance the urgency of the unknown and possibly invasions could include speeding up during climactic sections and adding more photos of what was lost after experiencing an event out of this world. Overall, the video successfully captured the unsettling feeling of encountering the unknown while maintaining a structured, engaging progression.
Hello Connor!
First of all I have to know because my curiosity is getting to me: is your last name pronounce “Scarred” or “Scared’. I also thought it might be pronounce “Scaryeed”
Anyways I loved your video! Not only is it space themed, which is one of my favorite topics, it very much gave me War of the Worlds by HG Wells vibes (which is an excellent classic sci fi read! (or listen if you prefer audio books)). Your images paired and flowed very well with the chosen song and my absolute favorite image was the one with the camera with image of a spaceship reflecting in it. Your theme and story are very apparent as well as your efforts to directly illustrate the lyrics in the song while telling a story. There were only two things that I found kind of confusing; but they can be written off as personal issues or personal error. The way the artist says “Earth” in the song baffled me- and I had to turn my sound all the way up in order to understand what word he was saying. Also, the third image of an empty Times Square threw me for a loop until I watched the video for a third time and realized you were trying to illustrate the lyrics “stood still”. I don’t know if you could find a better image for that lyric, because the other ones made more sense in my brain: Again that is personal issues though. Overall though a really nice piece!
Hi Connor,
I believe that the theme would be alien Invasion which was shown throughout the progression of your video with the images including flying saucers, aliens, and spaceships along with some laser beams. The images fit the story that you were trying to tell along with the song chosen for this video as well. Some of your images were hilarious along with your credits. Everything was great in terms of timing as well.
Awesome job, Connor!
My favorite image has to be the one with the alien in the sky resembling a signal light or moon!
