Hi there!
Oh my goodness this is amazing. The song and images go so well together, the techno beat gives extraterrestrial vibes. And the images showcase mankind in such a beautiful way. Earth as a whole is really just a giant living organism that plays host to so many different species, it’s amazing how often we tend to forget its actual beauty as our home. I really enjoyed how the images span from earth as a whole to hieroglyphics, philosophers, then to humankind as we are today. The theme is very clear, the edits go perfectly to the beats (even the little alien arms on the keyboard!), and I’d say the interpretation evolves alongside the music as it gives the indication of time moving forward. The editing of the mini pictures on the computers was such a cool addition, it almost felt like I was watching as an alien too.
Hello Ana!
I really enjoyed the creative approach you took with the idea of a little alien discovering Earth for the first time. The concept was clear and fun, and it gave the video a unique perspective. One of my favorite parts was the “Welcome to Earth” image at the beginning. It looked like a postcard, which was a really cool and clever way to introduce the theme. I also liked how you showed Earth from ancient history through modern times. That progression helped the video feel like a journey and kept it interesting as it moved forward. The images were very creative and worked well with the idea of the alien exploring the planet. The pacing felt smooth and matched the playful tone of the concept and the audio really complimented your theme!
Hello Ana! I am not apart of your feedback group, but I loved your video so much I had to comment. It has three of my all time favorite things, cats, aliens, and space imagery. SO, SO good! Your approach was so creative while still staying within the bounds of our assignment. The little cat paws typing on the computer were such a fun detail, and seeing the sequence of that they would observe about Earth was such good storytelling. The music would not have been something I would have initially associated with the story you were telling, but it and the beat fit so well together that I have found myself rewatching it multiple times. Great job!
Hey Ana, great job on this!! The choice of song had a great BPM for the sort of effect you were going for, it sounds like it was written by a time-traveling caveman band. I love the characterization you did with the green paws images matching the alien kitties images, creating that continuity across different sections like that is a feat all on its own. All the elements complemented each other wonderfully, the timing on the beat switches were great too.
