Based on the photo chosen, I’m assuming that you were going for typeface that looked more aged. These really go well with the photo, looking like something that could have been on an older manuscript. The text from the article gets sort of hidden slightly on the bottom, so I wonder if it could have popped out more with a drop shadow or something to help it lift off of the busier background. That font can look slightly crowded as well; you could try adjusting the letter spacing so they don’t bleed into each other as much and see if that helps. There is a bit more darkness in the bottom left corner of the photo, so you might just be able to make that text a little larger and drag if further down into that corner and see if it stands out more. The image is great and matches the mood of the article perfectly. Keeping the color of the text a simple white, matches the time period and almost keeps it as a more serious and sad mood as well. Great job!
Hello Kaitlyn! The font options you used go well together. The script goes really well with the image. It could be because of the age of the photo or because the script tends to be more romantic and the text is about marriage. Either way, I think the script was a good choice. The font you chose for the article number doesn’t take away from the image or the scriptive font. The image is lovely, but perhaps cropping it would have helped focus on the important parts. I had to scroll to view the image in its entirety or zoom out. Moving ‘Article 16’ down about an inch and a half and cropping out the majority of the empty space in the upper left corner as well as cropping out about an inch of the bottom would have given the viewer less to take in and focused on the more important information being provided.
