Content & Creation
This project was created with iMovie. I did not shoot any videos or capturing any pictures of my own for this project. I used Openverse to search the image assets and download them from Flickr. Some images were edited using Photopea. For audio I used a background music from ccmixter and mixed it with the narration I did using Audacity. I have only used copyrighted images and audios that have Creative Commons license. I also made sure the assets are use are derivable.

My Princess Anna !!

“Dressed up as Anna” by Annie Thomas is licensed under © “All Rights Reserved 2021”

In this picture is my daughter dressed up as “Princess Anna from Frozen” during Halloween last year. Everyone knows toddlers are one of the toughest to photograph. One needs a whole of patience to capture a good picture and this is one of those many photos. Although it was her second Halloween, it was the very first time she was about to go for a “Trick or Treat”. She was so excited that she kept moving here and there, and never stayed in a place. So it was hard to set a frame to capture her in her Halloween costume. I decided to shoot her in burst mode and did not worry about the framing of the shot with the plan of editing it later.

Here is the edited version of the photograph I captured last year. I removed the unwanted details in the picture such as the pathway and the vehicles parked. I followed the rule of thirds to make the composition more interesting. The original picture was shot in iPhone’s Portrait mode in Natural light. During the editing process, I switched to Studio light so that the face is brightly lit and increased the exposure of the picture. Finally, I adjusted the depth of the photo to blur the less important details in the background and emphasize the focus on my daughter.

Missing a bit of context…

“Please Get Off” by Brianna Criswell © “All Rights Reserved 2022”

For my particular crop I was debating what to do when I found this photo I took hiding in my phone folders. Me and my mother had gone to Wendy’s and were waiting on our food when we suddenly found ourselves with an oversized and far too realistic hood ornament. He got off when we left and was perfectly fine, but it was a real shock when he first hopped on! I kinda couldn’t help but snap a picture to share with my friends to laugh about the situation.

One thing I didn’t expect was one friend assuming that this happened to just be a particularly big bird!

Which lead to think of how I wanted to crop the image, see if there was a way to play up the silliness of that to try and see if he could seem bigger. I remembered my friend mentioning that they were able to correct themselves due to the car hood so I decided to remove that to see if it would work. I think it did! I also tried to omit the building to the side to remove further context clues for the bird’s height…

Now imagine this running you down in the parking lot for your fries!

Falling for Fall

Fall is my most favorite time of the year. Who doesn’t enjoy observing the leaves from the tress and plants changing into multi-colored works of art before finally falling away? It is the coziest season of all. The sun is still bright and warm around midday but mornings and evenings are chilly with less frequent rains. Since Florida doesn’t have much Fall foliage displays I travel north during this time to enjoy the colors mainly because I love to take photographs of nature.
The beautiful, and vibrant colors are visual treat and can be gazed at all through the day.

It is the coziest season of all. The sun is still bright and warm around midday but mornings and evenings are chilly with less frequent rains. It is the “cooling off” month right between the blazing summer and chilling winter. Autumn is season of holidays to spend time with family before rolling into winter and Christmas. It is the season to be thankful and to be surrounded by the people you love.

I chose the write my post about Autumn because the weather currently is very cold for Floridians and I was wondering how much I miss the other seasons especially ‘Fall’. I found the autumn leaves picture and the audio appropriate to the mood and content of my post and hence used it.
