I wanted to explore the idea of a fitness and science podcast, bridging popular exercise trends with the research behind them. My goal is to create a podcast that inspires listeners to live healthier while explaining how fitness impacts our bodies.
The sound design captures the lively energy of fitness with sounds like heartbeats and pouring water, while upbeat background music keeps the vibe positive and engaging.
For the album art, I chose a vibrant image of someone enjoying a fitness activity. The bright colors and dynamic lines reflect strength and vitality, and the bold, modern text aligns with the podcast’s fresh approach. I hope it gets everyone excited about this journey!

My podcast is for my fantasy football league. In this podcast, I discuss, usually with other members of the league, how the league is going and our opinions on players and other teams. I started this podcast with another member in my league last year but never recorded an intro. I am glad I was able to do this now, and hopefully, I will use it in my future podcast episodes! My podcast intro included my voice welcoming listeners and introducing what the podcast would cover. It also has background music and some sound effects from a football practice.

One of my favorite things about living with my best friend is the time we spend together on our back porch. At night, we grab a drink and talk about our days. I talk about politics. Hanna talks about celebrity gossip. We always see something unusual in the sky: crazy fog, strobe lights, drones…and I swear that was a UFO. This podcast is a reflection of our time spent together– a little spooky but mostly playful. I think this comes across in the script, our tone of voice, the sound effects, and music. I incorporated the sound of our screen door slamming shut (quick, what is that?!). This was my first time using GarageBand. In this audio, sound clips are layered and I learned how to fade in and out and control the background volume.

For this exercise, I drafted a sample excerpt for a podcast stemming from the Substack blog my partner, Sarah, and I are putting together. The podcast and blog, called Split/Screen, revolves around discussion of media, usually video games and film, within the context of friendship and cooperative play. For this sample episode, I imagined a discussion of psychic detective-fiction focusing on discussion of Alan Wake IIand Longlegs. The podcast opens with some lighthearted banter between my co-host and I. Soon after, theme music plays, consisting of film-sync beeps, the sound of a projector, a vibraphone jingle, and some glitchy 8-bit percussion. Being a podcast about both games and film, there are sound effects pointing to both throughout the theme music. The vibraphone jingle, composed and recorded by my friend and collaborator Michael Mortilla, creates a classy through-line to unite the sound effects. The theme music fades out, giving way to some introductory discourse on the scope of the imagined podcast and the topic of the episode.
“Microsoft CoPilot . Accessed 2025-16-02. Prompt: ‘Can you create me an image of a husky, he has one blue eye and one brown eye, he has a cone from having surgery and a pink bandage from the IV, he is laying down on the beach and you can see the beach and buildings all behind him’
Hello, fellow dog lovers! I’m thrilled to introduce you to my new podcast, “Husky Life,” where we embark on an exciting journey into the world of Siberian Huskies. As a proud husky owner living by the beautiful beaches of Largo, Florida, I’ve experienced the joys and challenges that come with having this spirited breed.
In our very first episode, I’ll share the heartwarming story of how I welcomed my husky into my life and the journey we’ve been on since. Recently, my furry friend underwent surgery, and I’ll discuss his recovery process, the ups and downs we faced, and the special bond we’ve developed through it all.
To enhance your listening experience, I’ve incorporated soothing beach sound effects that reflect my coastal surroundings, creating a calming atmosphere as we dive into each episode. You’ll also hear a husky’s adorable howl, a sound that perfectly captures his playful spirit and resilience during recovery.
Join me as we explore the adventures of husky ownership and their playful antics to the heartfelt moments that make it all worthwhile. Whether you’re a seasoned husky owner or just a fan of these incredible dogs, there’s something for everyone in “Husky Life.”
Stay tuned for our first episode, and let’s journey together!

Sound Elements
Audio for this project was edited using Adobe Audition. Background music and ambient water sounds were obtained from Freesound. The spoken voice is my own.
My fictional podcast, “Whodunnit Hour,” is a place you can listen in to hear about all kinds of mystery novels. The podcast provides reviews and discussion around mystery books, both popular books and ones you may never have heard of. For this particular episode, I was referencing the book Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I opened the audio with the ambient sound of a spooky forest. This helps set the scene that we’ll be talking about creepy things. I follow that with my spoken introduction to the podcast. I closed the audio with some suspenseful music, as I hear many podcasts play music after the intro. I tried to set the scene that the podcast would be spooky, but also campy and fun.
My podcast series, The Virtual Violinist, is a classical music focused podcast. The host (me) is a musician who talks about news, culture, and pedagogue related to violin playing. In this snippet, I am discussing the recent auction of one of the most famous (and expensive) Stradivarius violins in the world.
The sound elements used in this podcast snippet are as follows:
Voice: myself speaking (0:03-0:29)
Sound effect: self-recorded violin plucking, which occurs right after I introduce my podcast name (0:07)
Ambient sounds: an orchestra tuning before a concert (0:00-0:03)
Music: a snippet from a classical music piece by Bach, which occurs after the intro when I start discussing the main topic (0:13-0:30)
