Media Lab 01: Blogging

A portrait of me

Hi everyone! My name is Adam Alhassan, originally from Lagos, Nigeria (the entertainment center of Africa), now living in Tallahassee, Florida. I got my Bachelors in IT from FSU and now about to get my Masters in IT (this is my last semester). I am a Quality Assurance Supervisor. I have several hobbies, but the one that takes the cake is playing video games, and I mostly play on the PlayStation 5 console. I was interested in this class because we would be working with digital media, which should be fun. I hope to learn more from this class to improve my media creating and editing skills.

Media Lab 01 – David Baker’s blog post

My name is David Baker and I’m from Orlando, FL. I graduated from FSU in 2004 with a bachelor of science in Business – Management Information Systems. I’ve worked in the information technology field for about 18 years and currently work at Citrix.

My favorite thing to do is ride motocross on the weekends. Occasionally, I’ll create some videos out at the track using a GoPro and upload them to my YouTube Channel.

Librarianship is Life!

Librarianship is everything individuals are aware of and what they are not yet aware of. I have been lucky to find and discover something new, about EVERYTHING, EVERY DAY thanks to the whole idea of librarianship (Information, connections, revelations, everything!)

Hanging out at Go Fish (British restaurant) in Rehoboth Beach, DE)

I am Harry Brake, from the City of Butler, Pennsylvania, have family connections to the Pittsburgh Steelers, now live in Delaware, and am studying the Master’s in Information Science with the ALA Certification. I work/manage the Woodbridge High School Library, previously worked at The American School Foundation in Mexico City and brought back my dogs from Mexico as you can them posing below:

Amaya, Kinah, and Wriggley in Mexico City!

I coach Cross Country, am the President of the Delaware Association of School Libraries, I love to blog at my blog site – I LOVE social media creation with students surrounding me with their ideas, love the outdoors, aquariums, and my work with The Nanticoke River Watershed Conservancy. I love finding ways to cross technology to promote environmentalism.

I love the fact that a wide range of social media and mediums are represented in this class and LOVE the potential of what others will bring to these mediums from their personal experiences.

The Doll

Synopsis

A patron complains about an “eerie” doll in the library and demands it be thrown away. The librarian reluctantly complies but the doll has other plans in mind.

Process

I came up with this idea after mixing a few of my original thoughts together and decided to shoot everything myself. I had a friend record while I “acted” the scenes out. I obtained the sounds used in the clip through creative commons and used iMovie to compile and edit the video. An iPhone was used to film the entirety of the video and Microsoft PowerPoint was used to create the end credits scene.

No One Messes with a Caruso

Synopsis: The day my grandfather was kidnapped by the mafia as a kid. I want it to be him telling his grandchildren about it.

I narrated this video myself (both voices are me).

I used Adobe Premier Pro to edit the video. I have used it a little bit before, so I was able to edit my video, mix my audio, and record my narration all in it. I did use Photoshop to edit the credit page.
