The Burn Book Club would be a biweekly podcast discussing sassy, witty fiction authors and books such as one featured for my first episode, Lauren Weisberger, the author of the Devil Wears Prada series and more. Sound effects are used, such as the book flipping and high heels walking (inspired by her series). The music is uptempo inspired with the feeling of fashion/martini time/sex and the city vibes as this author writes characters in high fashion, famous cities, heels, luxurious brands, and fades out as my voice enters. Lastly, using my voice as my dialogue.

“A Hundred Acres of Memories – Chapter VI: In Which Eeyore Has a Birthday and Gets Two Presents” podcast by Elizabeth Gerace is licensed under the Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).

A Hundred Acres of Memories is a podcast in which we read through a chapter A.A. Milne’s 1926 classic novel Winnie-the-Pooh a week and spend time discussing how the themes relate to our lives. Children’s stories have had an undeniable effect on the world we live in today, and by speaking on its impact in our lives, we begin to see a fuller picture of the world.

Through the use of GarageBand and FreeSound, I positioned sound clips in this podcast to add a calm and sentimental feeling to the post. The sounds of the paper flipping and the cassette player flicking on to play the theme music are to simulate the feeling of reading a favorite book on a rainy day. The music I chose has a dreamy fantasy feeling, in order to fully capture the vibe of the Hundred Acre Woods.

Episode 1: The Librarian/Staff Divide

“My Podcast: Episode 1 The Librarian/Staff Divide” by Kestrel Ward CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0

My podcast series would be about issues and news from library-land. The intro-music is upbeat, and there is an audio interjection “Shh! We’re in a library!” before the meat of the episode, as a fun way of letting the listener know we’ve entered the library! Though the subject-matter is serious, it would be approached in a light-hearted and enjoyable way.

Living Your Destiny with Deidra Lynn

“Finding your Happy Place” by Deidra Lynn Jones is a derivative of “Beach” by Alessandro Caproni. The derivative is licensed under the Attribution 2.0 Generic (CC BY 2.0).

Living your Destiny with Deidra Lynn Jones is a podcast dedicated to helping others find their purpose, passion, and prosperity. Each week the podcast provides listeners with educational and inspirational tips for living a better life.  I have learned in my 48 years of living that sometimes the best advice for living your best life is not always obvious. Life’s up and downs can knock you down or knock you out. In this podcast we interview everyday people to gain knowledge, insight, and wisdom on navigating the terrain of life to ensure you are living a life of VICTORY!

I created the Living your Destiny podcast by using a variety of audio sounds to create the feeling of busy city life. The audio clips include a person yelling, loud horns and city noises that included motorcycles airplanes and other street sounds. The audio then changes to relaxing ocean ways to focus attention to the topic of the podcast which is finding your happy place.

Let’s Get Crafty: Crafting with a Cricut Machine

My podcast, Scrapbooking with Sheryl, would air weekly. I would give tips on scrapbooking and ideas to save your treasured memories for generations to come. We would discuss appropriate materials to use and how to use them. We would discuss page layouts and what makes a good scrapbook.

My podcast opens with the sound of a camera shutter and someone cutting paper. The music I selected begins and I introduce the podcast. My music is upbeat and felt like it was “crafty” sounding.

National Park Tips is a weekly podcast created for people who love to travel. Every week is a different National Park where you can gain insight and tips for your adventure!

I used audacity to combine the sound elements for this podcast. I started with a forest ambience, birds chirping and then faded in an acoustic guitar. I tried to think of music that could relate to the Rocky mountains! Then precisely at the fifteen second line I started speaking. A little before the end I faded the music as well.

For this podcast, I made use of ambient sounds, a sound effect, music, and voice recording. I used the ambient sound of a crowd at a field first, to help acclimate the listener to the feeling of being out at a game. The type of game becomes more apparent shortly after by the added sound effect of a person hitting a ball, and the crowd transitioning to cheering at the play that is happening on the field. I have the music fade in as the crowd cheers and continue as the crowd fades out, and the introduction is made. Then the music fades out after both the hosts are introduced and I let everything center on the voice recording from then on as the main topic of the episode begins.
