No, You Didn’t…

“No, You Didn’t”: An Appalachian Horror Story, by Katherine Stanford and is licensed under Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International. It was created on Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 and uses Creative Commons 0 sound effects. All videos and voiceover were created by Katherine Stanford and are licensed under Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International.

Synopsis:

I live with a horror hound. My spouse has been watching horror since they were tiny, to hear them talk, and frankly, while I enjoyed cheesy “creature features” and Alfred Hitchcock movies and all things goth before we met, it wasn’t afterwards that it became quite so… all-encompassing, shall we say? Now, I grew up with idea of goth being The Crow and The Craft and movies of that ilk, and my music tastes have always run somewhere between Stevie Nicks and Magica… so the idea of creating an Appalachian Gothic Horror story, in the vein of the ones often featured on Tiktok was always going to appeal to me: If you hear something, no, you didn’t. If you see something, no, you didn’t. And if something says your name, run and hide because there are things in the forest that are older than the trees.

Media Assets:

I drove up to the North Georgia mountains over a weekend and filmed for several hours. Most of it is recorded on a Canon R7 mirrorless camera, but I also recorded more than a bit on my iPhone 13 Pro as well. Most of it was shot in the Dawsonville area around Amicalola Falls, while a tiny bit was also shot just alongside the road when I saw a shot I liked. Likewise, I provided all the voiceovers and background whispers. Background sound effects are listed below.

Software:

  • Adobe Photoshop Pro 2024 – Cover Image
  • Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 – Everything else

Where are my keys?

Where are my keys? by Pritish Pandit was created and licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 DEED, which was edited in Adobe Premier Pro, and exported as an (H.265) MP4 file at 4k to be uploaded onto YouTube. Audios in the video are Creative Commons, sourced from Freesound.

Synopsis: Who took the car keys? Who is the convict? What was the motive behind this crime? Let’s find it out together. The video shot by me is a comedy skit of a guy trying to find his keys.

Content & Creation: The video was shot by me with the help of my friends. I tried to use the rule of thirds in most of the scenes while shooting the video. The voiceover of the “guy” as well as the “keys” was recorded by me. Apart from the voiceover part the music playing in the background as well as the laughter of the audience was sourced from Freesound. I used the Voice Changer app to modify my voice to provide the voiceover for my keys. The video was edited in Adobe Premier Pro.

Marvin the Robot and the Perfect Meal

“Marvin the Robot and the Perfect Meal” including all original images, video, and audio is copyrighted by Linnea Eberhart. All rights reserved.

Synopsis: Marvin the Robot sets out to find the perfect meal in Orlando and along the way he discovers food and cultures from around the world. He learns that what makes the perfect meal is the same thing that makes Orlando great – it has a little bit of everything.

Media Assets and Software: I shot original video and photos for this project which feature a toy robot named Marvin with different food and in different neighborhoods in Orlando. I also created collages where I layered cutouts of Marvin the Robot onto original photos. The audio is a story-like narration of Marvin’s adventures consisting of both original recordings and Creative Commons sound effects and background music. I used Audacity to record the narration and Canva to create the final video. I also used the “Voice Changer – Audio Effects” app by One Pixel Studio to apply a robot voiceover effect for Marvin’s voice.

Diner Conversations

Diner Conversations by Jo Charles was edited on Vixer and Microsoft ClipChamp. Exported 1080p (HD). Licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 DEED. Audio used in the video was obtained from ccMixter and edited for the video using TwistedWave.

Synopsis: In “Diner Conversations,” the audience finds itself trapped in the uncomfortable role of a perpetual third wheel, forced to witness the turbulent on-and-off relationship of their friends Jane and John. As Jane and John navigate yet another rough patch, the audience is forced to deal with the discomfort and unease that comes with being caught in the middle of their dynamic.

Content & Creation: All the visuals shot for this project were filmed on my iPhone 12 Pro, with the assistance of a tripod to capture more difficult shots. For the voiceover, I provided the voice for “Jane,” while my partner voiced “John,” and a mutual friend voiced “The Audience/Narrator.” Apart from the voiceover audio, all other audio was sourced from ccMixter. The majority of the video was edited using Vixer and polished using Microsoft ClipChamp. Filters and special effects were obtained from Vixer and Microsoft ClipChamp, respectively. The audio was intentionally sped up on Microsoft Clipchamp to enhance the overall discomfort felt by the audience, including the distorted audio of the original background music, which was edited using TwistedWave.

Companionship Is The Longest Confession Of Love

Companionship is the Longest Confession of Love by Tianhao Liang was created and licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 DEED, which was edited by Final Cut Pro, exported as an (H.264) MP4 file at 1080p to be uploaded onto YouTube. Audios in the video are Creative Commons, sourced from incompetech and Freesound.

Synopsis: From the first perspective of a camera, this story expresses its four-year journey with its owner, capturing precious moments across diverse locations with a wish to remain by her side forever. Despite ultimately succumbing to wear and tear, the camera believes it has completed its cherished mission.

Content & Creation: All visual content for this project comes from my own videos and images taken within these four years. The voice-over was self-recorded and all other audio elements were Creative Commons assets from incompetech and Freesound. This video was edited using Final Cut Pro. All animations for camera perspective were made with Final Cut Pro effects and transition including SLR, Fisheye, Simple Boarder, and Flash. All broken-down scenes were also made with Final Cut Pro effects including Bad TV and Gaussian blur. The split-screen effect was made by changing keyframes for 3 pictures. For motion graphics, the film frame was drawn by Adobe Photoshop and moved by changing keyframe together with photos in Final Cut Pro. Title slides were also created by the film frame with Bad TV and typewriter effects.
