Veiled Prey

Veiled Prey by Megan Kosove

Veiled Prey is the story of a cat’s contemptuous internal monologue after seeing a moving “creature” under blankets. They attack what they find only to see that they had been seemingly tricked by their human.

“Veiled Prey” was created through the use of two separate applications: Audacity was used to record and edit the audio portion of the video while Clipchamp was used for creating the visual portion and joining it with the audio.

All the pictures within the video were taken by me of my cat, Artemis. Furthermore, I acted out the voiced script for the audio portion myself.

From Despair to Hope

“From Despair to Hope” by Brett Segassie is licensed under CC BY 2.0

I questioned whether or not the video should or should not have a negative connotation because of the background music. I decided to try and make the video different from what the melody is portraying. So I made the images at first with a negative influence to a positive influence as if to say what if we take all of these negative ideas and events and try to turn them into something positive? What if these negative events have led to positive outcomes of change? For instance, a riot influences better wages. Everything was done on Canva, with creative commons and open-sourced media available through Flickr and then I uploaded it to Vimeo.
