Hey Alyssa, what are the odds that we used the same base song? Albeit we approached the images to accompany the song in a very different way. The main takeaway I get from your video is a conflict between being stuck at work (specifically office jobs and urban areas) but wanting to be able to reconnect with nature. I think the images you picked enhanced the core message of the song (i.e. you can’t/shouldn’t stay somewhere that’s bad for you) although there were a couple instances I thought the images moved a bit too fast, and I’m not sure I truly understood the thought behind each inclusion, for instance why was one image upside down? Overall I thought the pacing worked well, there was some variance but things seemed mostly on beat. I also liked the mixing of video and still images.
Hey Alyssa, I felt the video was well done. I kind of got an empowerment vibe from it. I’ve always struggled to find the beat in music. From what I can tell, your transitions were pretty good, but there were a few places where it felt off. I really don’t know how to quantify that other than a gut feeling. I did like the recurring images of the butterflies because they have to keep moving to survive. On a side note, it’s funny you and Nicole chose the same song. Great minds and all.
Hi Alyssa, you did a great job with matching the images to the beat of the music and I especially liked your use of repetition of certain images to reenforce the feeling of being stuck in the repetition of a 9-5 job. I enjoyed how the video moved into images that felt free, like someone breaking free of the drudgery of life and beginning to enjoy the beauty life has to offer. Well done!
