Podcast Description:
“Legends Reborn” is a limited-run Survivor fan podcast designed to build excitement for the upcoming 50th season! This season features returning players from the first 49 seasons and it is one of the largest casts to date with 24 players returning. As such, this podcast will feature episodes focusing on each cast member, revisiting their original seasons and discussing the moves that granted them Legend status. The goal is a fun, lore-heavy show geared towards fans!
Audio and Video Editing Notes:
To match the classic Survivor vibe, I used tribal‑style drum beats as the background music. Additionally, I found a replica of the the well‑known Survivor horn sound which I inserted directly after my title introduction. While recording, I tried to keep my tone upbeat and energetic, similar to what you’d hear in other Survivor podcasts.
For the poster I used an image of the show’s most recognizable symbol, the torch. I started with a single photo of a burning torch, which I then cropped tightly. After that, I duplicated the image twice and arranged the three torches side‑by‑side to represent the three eventually season finalists!
To edit the image I used Canva. To edit the audio I used Adobe Premiere. I tried editing in Audacity, but I found that Premiere gave me better control over the volume level and fade effects.

Hi Nyabi! Though I’ve never watched Survivor, barring a few clips here and there, I knew instantly, based on the torch image and the drumbeat, what I was in for with your podcast. Your high-intensity voiceover, teasing what was coming up in your show, coupled with the driving drums, helped to draw interest, even for someone unfamiliar with the show, like me. The use of the horn, known well to fans of the show, also adds to the intensity of your clip.
Your core audience will be the die-hard Survivor fans. As we are closing in on the 50th season of the show, that is already a large built-in audience! Your biggest hurdle will be to create something that stands out from the established media and commentators to capture a share of the audience.
My two biggest suggestions would be to lower the drumbeat just a bit more once your narration starts, as it is competing for attention with your introduction, and to either wait for the horn sound until the break in your narration, or slowly fade up (more than you did) the sound as you are finishing your first section.
Hey Nyabi – this sounded awesome! I would love to continue listening to a podcast like this, as my family does seasonal “Survivor Draft,” where we predict who will win the season, and watch it together. I really loved the audio that you integrated with your voice, conveying the shows adventurous themes and creating the environment of the reality show. I did agree with Kristi that the drums might have been a bit too loud in comparison to your voice – I could still hear everything you said clearly, but they were a bit distracting. That said, this was a clearly rehearsed and integrated beautifully – well done!
Hi Nyabi,
The beginning of the podcast instantly teleported me into Survivor mode. I enjoyed the shift from the tribal beat into your voiceover, you did a great job blending these two together by continuing to play the music during your voiceover at a lower volume. This concept would definitely get an audience especially from all the people who love Survivor and are excited for the 50th season. Also, the poster perfectly matches the podcast intro and portrays what the listener should expect. Great job!
