“Footnotes” is a weekly podcast that delves into all genres of books and brings on different guests with a special interest or knowledge on that week’s book/topic the book addresses. The soft background music is intended to create a cozy, coffee shop type feel that allows the listener to relax during the episode. I wanted it to feel like the they were getting ready to sit down with a good book themselves. The sound effect of the page turning served as a signal that the title of the book was about to be announced.
I wanted the podcast art to reflect the same feeling that the podcast has: cozy vibes and good reads. The coffee and book gives the air of sitting in a tucked away corner of a coffee shop while the green text complements the soft browns, greens, and pinks of the picture. I used some of the techniques we have learned, such as the rule of thirds, to crop the original image.

Hi Christina! I liked the concept of your podcast. I would love to listen to a book centered podcast with experts bringing their knowledge on different books. I would be interested in an even more specific description of what you would be specifically talking about the books and what kind of guests you were thinking of having on the podcast. I liked the page turn sound to introduce the book that was a cute touch but would have liked maybe one sound effect like background noise such as the ambience of a cafe to set the mood more. I would be interested in this podcast and what fun guests you would bring on!
Hello Christina! I love the concept of your podcast, and I would definitely be interested in listening to it further. Footnotes gives off a calm and cozy vibe that feels very relaxing after a long day at work. I could definitely imagine listening to it after taking a warm shower with a glass of wine before bed. I really liked the page-turning sound effect that you used as a transition because it reinforced the literary theme. The audio you used also helped to create an immersive listening experience. I think that your concept is really strong, and it opens the floor to explore several genres and includes different guest speakers that add variety and depth to your podcast. It would definitely attract young adults, avid book readers/book club members. To improve this episode of Footnotes, I would have liked the music levels to be raised a little higher because I couldn’t really seem to hear it very well, even at max volume on my computer. Overall, you did a really great job, and I would be interested in you actually making this concept into a real podcast.
