Booked is a weekly podcast for readers who want to be involved in all types of conversations centered on books and the book community. Tune in to stay in touch with the latest hot topics for readers everywhere. With frequent special guests and heated topics, we are diving headfirst into all conversations, debates, suggestions, and reflections!
The cover is meant to convey the podcast’s lightheartedness. I liked that the photo included earbuds, since a large portion of the book community is online and many topics are hot on BookTok, Bookstagram, Booktube, and so on. The background for the title is meant to bring in more of the podcast’s fun vibes, with a wavy feel and fun fonts to accompany it.
The podcast uses voice-overs, sound effects, and music. The podcast uses fun, bouncy music to match the fun topics and help offset the conversations that can be very polarizing. The music begins as soon as the podcast starts, but is kept low, with the voiceover as the main focus. This is done intentionally to keep the entire intro bubbly and fun. When the special guest is announced, a clapping sound effect is added and fades in to create excitement about who is joining the podcast. The voiceover is meant to be lighthearted and intriguing for anyone looking to tune in to what the book community is discussing. Our first narrator, the host, introduces the episode, and our second narrator, the special guest, adds a fun, personality-filled sneak peek toward the end.

Hi Jazmin! This is so cute! First off, the wavy banner and fun font really drew me in with curiosity as to what this podcast is about. The title “BOOKED” could be larger for more emphasis and I like how it fits well in the empty space above the image of books. I appreciate how you used a green background on the banner, matching the green liner of the journal in the photo. Nice touch! By the way, I also appreciate how you included the earbuds as you’re right, many people listen to audio books these days and we don’t want to exclude them, even though the current episode is obviously geared more towards physical books. The title/subject seems pretty broad and I’m not sure I understand the breadth of topics that will be discussed or what might be considered “heated” or “polarizing” but that piqued my curiosity even more. The music is great–has the Charlie Brown jazzy vibes and works perfectly here, in my opinion. The narration could be a little bit slower–there was one part I couldn’t understand at first go (but I figured it out). I love how you actually included a guest audio which was a nice touch. The applause audio was cute too and her “is this thing on?” genuinely made me laugh. Overall it felt light-hearted and fun. And YES we annotate our books unless they are first-editions (I guess that could be heated and polarizing, right?). hahaha Great job!!
Hi Jazmin! I really love the warm and welcoming tone of your podcast. The combination of narration, music, and sound effects created a calm listening experience that felt very fitting for a book-centered theme. The applause sound effect was fun! I really liked how you added a guest speaker. It added variety and made the episode feel more conversational. I really think this appeals to readers and book lovers, and I could see it developing into a thoughtful series around reading culture and community. Your album art is pleasant and inviting and matched the tone of the podcast well.
Hello Jazmin! I love that you added a special guest! The two narrators added the perfect touch. The clapping audio was also perfectly soft and was the perfect transition for the second narrator. I did notice that there was a slight buzz quality to the first narrators audio, but it was not overly distracting. The image you used for the title card is the perfect cozy/cottagecore vibe. I would definitely listen to this podcast!
