Hey Ella,
The overall tone and mood seem excited to talk about Stevie Wonder. The sounds you chose work well overall—an upbeat jazz riff with some vinyl noises in the background. The narrator seems very passionate about the subject, and I enjoy his casual demeanor with the audience.
I think this podcast would be interesting to music fans and enthusiasts who enjoy learning more about the music and the artists behind it. Especially those interested in a jazzier or funkier style. Including live documentation or recordings of the artists could also add a nice layer of nuance for the audience.
I think the levels feel a bit off between the audio narration and the background music. The narration is just slightly too loud and sounds a bit wide and echoey. Overall, though, the concept and elements work well together. Great job!
Hey Ella. I like the concept. Of course, I’m a huge music lover and can vibe with most music shows. The image conveys the podcast theme really well, but I really love what you did with the font. I don’t know, the P extending down across the image just feels right. The music is great and works well with the theme. However, I’m not sure if it’s intentional, but the intro guitar riff feels unresolved; it’s like it’s missing one note. Good delivery on the narration, but there is a strong echo that is a bit distracting. Loved the record scratch, great timing on that.
Hi Ella,
I liked where you were going with this. The tone is upbeat and conversational, like you are being welcomed into a personal music story and not a normal documentary. I can hear the excitement of the topic in your voice. The guitar riff helps make the intro feel lively, and I, too, loved to listen to Stevie Wonder, so you did get me hooked.
I can definitely see it finding an audience, as listeners always enjoy a little nostalgia and classic artists from their youth. There are a lot of places you can go with this type of podcast, and so far, I like where you are taking it.
As others have mentioned, I would definitely fix the audio quality in this case, as the narration was louder than it should be in my opinion, compared to the music. There is a clear echo that is distracting, and it does compete with the music. I would definitely try what the professor said and find a better location for recording the audio. I would edit the music at a lower volume under the narration, and possibly fade into the music. I thought the graphic was catchy, and I did not notice any broken links or layout issues for your post.
Overall, this is a strong concept with a welcoming vibe, and the sound choices fit the theme really well.
