The Legacy of Laughs is a podcast that explores the history of American comedy, one comedian (or comedienne) at a time. Made for both the history buff and the comedy fan, The Legacy of Laughs is appropriate for all ages, and seeks to educate, illuminate and entertain. I used a laugh track right off the bat to set the tone, followed by an immediate music track reminiscent of the Seinfeld theme, sure to snap the listener into a comedic frame of mind. I recorded myself using my MacBook Air microphone and all audio editing was completed using Audacity.

Hi Karen, I liked the upbeat and fun tone of your podcast. The laughter sound effect helped set the mood right away and made it clear that the focus was on comedy. For a brief moment, the sound effect sounded like it was from a Seinfeld episode, which definitely created a familiar comedic feel. The idea of exploring comedians across different decades is interesting and could appeal to listeners who enjoy comedy or entertainment history. It feels like something that could grow into a series that highlights how humor has changed over time. One possible thing to consider is to use sound effects that give it a more unique identity. Overall, great job!
Hello Karen! This is a very fun and unique idea. Your pacing was great, and your mix was very fun. One thing I noticed was the music track was a little too loud compared to your voice, and I had to remind myself to focus on the words you were saying. That might also be my own auditory processing issues, but wanted to mention it in case it was something anyone else noticed! I also like your title card, but it did give me an archaeology feel at first for some reason.
Hey Karen! What an interesting concept! I loved the laughter sound right at the beginning! I also really enjoyed the music that you used; it was light and fun. You definitely set the mood of historical and informative, but on a fun subject, haha. I found the background sounds and the music to be the most compelling elements of your podcast. One area that I have a suggestion for is the image. The large title text is good for making it stand out; I just wish it didn’t intersect the mask at an angle. And the subtitle in a different color might have made it easier to read. Other than that, I also really like the fonts you chose!
