Hi Hannah! I really, really like your creation for this assignment, it’s very artistic and thus one of my favorites. I like that you were creative in using a painting over a photo, and it fits the message being conveyed perfectly with the farm workers laying down to rest. I also like the curved banner you used for the article title, as it adds interest and fits the artsy vibe. My only suggestions are that the font color may be a little hard to read for some, a black or at least darker blue would stand out more. Also I’d suggest going with a sans serif font for the second typeface since the first one is already more stylistic, that way things look cleaner and clearer.
Hannah, I love the striking image you chose! The colors are beautiful. I really appreciate the subtle curve of the article title and the colored box beneath for the article itself. As both chosen fonts are serifs, I think creating the article text in a sans serif or the title in a decorative or script font would have made the overall image more impactful, since the two fonts seem a bit similar. I would also like to see the article text in a darker color or with a subtle outline. Something that would make it stand out more. Likewise, the box around the article title blends into the background a bit too much. Perhaps darkening or lightening it a shade or two would make it pop a bit more.
