Hi Destiny! Your photo is an excellent match for the article you’ve chosen. It immediately brings to mind immigrants leaving one country for another. I really like how the ramp leads the eye from the boat down towards the text. I see that you aligned the text at the bottom with the word “Article” at the top, which is also aligned with the person standing in the far left foreground. The san serif font of the test is legible and reflects the sans serif font on the ramp itself, which is kind of cool. The one suggestion I would give is that the “Article 13” could be much larger. I feel like the outline feature is competing visually a bit with the poles. If you removed the outline feature and made it larger, I think it would be a stronger image. The text of the article itself seems to be weighted on the left of the image, which makes sense if you’re emphasizing the people on land vs. the boat. The line from the lower right hand corner forms a triangle with the ramp and leads the eye up towards the “Article 13” which is nice! Overall this is an image that does a fantastic job of communicating the information. Great job!
Hi Destiny! I really like the picture that you chose. I think that the image and Article 13 go well together and that era is reflected well with the image. Considering the time period and the message of the text, they help emphasize one another. I was intrigued and further looked into that time in history and immigration into Argentina and it made the combination even better. I like the fonts that you chose, they complement the images’ time period and colors. I can imagine that on a poster at that time! The only suggestion I could think of is to maybe include a background to the title, Article 13, to make that a little easier to read. Something similar to what you did to the subtext maybe. But overall, it was very cohesive.
Hey Destiny –
This is a wonder cohesion of Article 13 to your selected image. I will say, I was not sure whether the passengers in this photo are getting off the boat or boarding it, but maybe that goes hand in hand with how one can both leave their country freely, while also return to it. I would suggest lighting the text for “ARTICLE 13” to be a little easier to read – or placing a background like you had with your text at the bottom.
