This image is a landscape painting of trees by a small body of water. This image stood out to me because the colors are very warm and it reminded me of a creek near my aunts house in North Carolina. In the image you can see the sun peeping over the horizon in a way that could indicate either sunset or sunrise. The audio I paired it with is of an acoustic guitar that sounds like a song you’d start your day off with. I think the audio enhances the image by setting the mood and bringing the image to life. With the audio playing, it feels like the sun is rising and a new day is beginning.

Hi Nyabi, what a beautiful painting! We lived in NC for a short time and it’s such a lovely state, I can definitely feel that vibe here. It makes me think of the morning and evening walks my husband and I take, every day, usually around the time of sunrise and sunset. The repeated theme of the audio moves right along, as one does while walking. It’s not gloomy or emotional, but rather fully content. All’s right with the world and life is worth living. The music reflects the sun, in a way, by looking forward with optimism to the next day, and those beautiful tall trees representing strength. Very nice!
Hey Nyabi! This is such a beautiful pairing, with the melodic guitar strumming along while the sun rays dance overhead. It portrays calm, or stillness, as with each morning and evening may bring. Generally, my mornings are full of possibility, tingling with the feelings of all there is to accomplish. My evenings, despite how the day actually goes, bring me joy as I look to the next day and all I can aspire to do then. Separately, the image may be viewed as something one would see in a museum, a stroll perhaps through curated arts. The music evokes a simpleness within life. Together, they paint a picture of possibility with each new day, which is all that one can really ask for. The simplicity of this pairing really works well. Other audio choices that would change this meaning would be the sounds of traffic, which would bring this painting into a negative light/ That would provoke angst and sadness at what we lose in each day as we race to jobs in overcrowded cities and leave behind the simplicity of the sunrise and the stillness in the morning. Overall thank you for this emotional evocation, mornings are my favorite time of the day!
Hi Nyabi!
This was such a thoughtful and lovely pairing of an image and sound. The mix of the sound and painting reminds me of a trip I took last year in the summer to California. We stayed in wine country and toured vineyards every day, but would come back to this house with land and a barn at the end of each day. The sunset was especially beautiful, it seemed on that trip, and with it came only the contentment of another day lived. Your post reminds me of that feeling of walking up or settling down for the evening, content with people you love.
