Hello, everyone! My name is Jazmin Jimenez. I live in Pahokee, Florida. I am currently working toward my Master of Science in Information. I work full-time at the library in my hometown, where I serve as the Children and Teens Specialist. I love connecting with the kids who come by, providing the essentials of a library, building bonds with my community, and being there when they need me. My favorite part of my job is programming. Lately, I have been loving creating arts and crafts with the kids that we display around the library.

I also work part-time at BRIDGES at Pahokee, a resource center. I am learning that they do so much more in the community than I previously knew! They provide dozens of resources for new parents, children in schools, and the community at large.
A hobby I have been loving lately is journaling! I have been using a Hobonichi Weeks journal, and it has been really fun. Looking through everyone’s posts, I see a few of us journal, enjoy vlogging, and take pictures! That is so exciting! I have been loving collecting all things stationery, writing about my day, using my endless sticker collection, making lists, writing about the books I’m reading, and gluing pictures of my family and friends. I have also been loving going to the movies! The entire class interests me, as this year I hope to be more comfortable with technology, specifically videos. I hope to gain more knowledge of digital media tools to become more tech-savvy and more comfortable using different resources.
Hi Jazmin! I am so excited to find another person who uses the Hobonichi Weeks! I have been a Hobonichi user since 2016 and I’m obsessed with stationery supplies, especially anything Japanese! So fun. Do you enjoy fountain pens as well? What do you use for a photo printer? I have the Canon Selphy with which I can print smaller photos, but I’m always interested to hear what other people use! Where are your photos for the blog post? I’m sad that I don’t get to see your face! The Bridges resource center looks like an amazing organization. What is your favorite aspect of working there? It sounds like working with kids is your forte, which is such an important support for the community. Like you, I’m hoping to becoming more comfortable working with videos and other digital media tools. Technology changes so quickly, it’s great to keep honing these skills, right? I look forward to getting to know you better and hopefully seeing your face at some point!
Hello Jazmin! Loved reading your blog. Like yourself, I also work full time at my local library in the youth services department. Working with kids can be amazing, they can be so inquisitive and sometimes I walk away with questions of my own. Does that ever happen to you? It’s so funny that we almost parallel when you also mentioned that you create arts and crafts around your department, as do I. I would have loved to have seen pictures of your displays, hopefully you would be able to post sometime in another assignment. Journaling sounds like such a fun hobby! The journals you shared through your link, look so cute, it would definitely encourage me to look into finally trying journaling. My supervisor and library senior of the youth services department are really into journaling, now I can see why. I can’t wait to hear more from you in upcoming blogs.

Hey Jazmin! I love how journaling has taken the world by storm! It’s so therapeutic to go about your day with a radar on for random bits of color and design to cut and throw together later. It feels like such a break from the hustle and bustle of every day life. I’m glad you can share that with your programming too, i feel like kids need that kind of break from the systems they’re pushed into by modernity equally as much as adults do! It sounds like you’re making an impact around different institutions in your area, I hope this class pushes you even further in that direction!
Hello Jazmin,
Being around kids has always brought me so much joy. Their energy, curiosity, and the little conversations we share make every moment feel light and fun. I used to work at an early learning center, caring for children as young as two years old, and those memories still make me smile. I’m also really excited that you introduced me to Hobonichi Weeks. I had no idea they offered not only stationery but magazines as well. What a delightful discovery. I’ve always had a soft spot for Japanese culture, and after visiting Japan a few times, that love has only grown stronger. Everything on their site is so beautifully designed—so kawaii—that I can’t wait to explore it more.
