Children will be lulled to sleep by the soft voice of the story teller. I imagine a podcast that reads a new story each night, that kids can fall asleep to. The crickets can be used as a transition sound and as a sort of white noise to promote sleep.
Hi Sarah,
What a smoothing podcast! My 4 year old loves listening to audiobooks, and I can imagine him really enjoying a podcast such this one.
Your voice recording is perfect for the relaxing, peaceful tone the podcast is trying to set. It is soft and smooth with a slower pace, the kind of voice you want when wanting to lull children, or even adults, to sleep. The voice recording is clear. I also like the addition of the crickets at the beginning and the end as they add a fun yet peaceful associate for bedtime.
I think the podcast could be elevated by adding some background music. I am specifically thinking a soft lullaby would be an excellent addition as it is soothing and a great tool to help children fall asleep.
There is not a creative commons credit for the derivative of the original you have created, so it would be helpful to add that. Also the text for the credits provided is very small, making it difficult to read. This is likely a formatting issue, but it would helpful to have the text larger. The link for YouTube audio would not work for me.
Overall, this is a good job!
Hello Sarah, it’s nice to e-meet you! Your podcast image with the yellow text contrasts really nicely with the blue starry sky. However, the font of the text is a bit hard to read. Your tone was soothing and calming which is nice considering this podcast is targeted towards younger children. Using the crickets for background noise was a great touch to create the soothing ambiance, and I really enjoyed that you made them louder during the pauses when you weren’t speaking. However, perhaps a soft piano or instrumental track playing quietly would be a great addition to the background! Also, many of your citations seem to be missing, such as the original image you used and one for your overall podcast. But overall great job!
Hey Sarah, your voice is so perfect for kiddos! Very soothing and just right for bedtime, spot on for your audience. I think the audio of the crickets for ambiance at the beginning is good but the same sound clip for both instead of adding music or sound effect. The only other thing with the audio is I am hearing a mouse click at the end? I think, it felt out of place though like some background noise. The star background is nice, a good night sky! But the font is difficult to read. Overall your citation links don’t seem to go to where you want them to either, just descriptions of the licenses and the YouTube help page for royalty free sounds – I am no expert on them though I have honestly been struggling this whole class with these citations so I apologize if that’s all you needed, my understanding is just that you need to hyperlink the author name to their page and the content to that content site where you downloaded. Great idea for the podcast overall!
Thanks!
Kiani
