Description:
Food Coma is a podcast about reviewing foods at the latest restaurants. The episode begins with a small snippet of a song that sings, “It’s the last time I talk about food.” I found this little snippet on Free Music Archive and just thought it was the perfect intro to the pod. After the little intro music, I introduce myself and the restaurant I’ll be reviewing and continue with the taste of the food. This portion would be the voice element of the podcast. During my reiteration of the restaurant, I added a low background noise of a restaurant just to give it the feel that I am giving the review live. Throughout the whole thing, there is very, very low jazz music. The intro song was just the singing, and I felt it needed instruments in the back, and that’s where the jazz came in. As well as, my voice needed a low track to be played over. Overall, I included voice, ambient sounds, and music.

Hi Kaleah, great podcast clip! I thought your choice of background music was cozy and inviting, and your bright introduction really drew me in to listen more. Your voice is clear, and the quality is great. As a foodie, I am totally on board with this podcast concept; so many people search up restaurant reviews on a regular basis, so this would be right up their alley…especially if they discover that they share your food tastes.
Some technical feedback: I noticed your audio credit for “Restaurant Ambiance” is misspelled. I also sensed that you erred on the side of caution when it came to the volume of the background music – it was almost too faint to hear, in my opinion, so increasing the volume slightly would not be distracting at all. Lastly, while your podcast cover photo suits the pizza restaurant well (as indicated by the pizza boxes, plates, and European-style windows), but will it change when you review foods from other cultures? And, thinking ahead to its future podcast concept, perhaps it could change with every episode to match each restaurant?
Hi Kaleah,
I think you nailed the atmosphere for this podcast!. The intro was catchy and memorable. The background ambiance was also great, though I think it could be better with more effects or slightly increasing the volume. Nonetheless, you delivered a great piece in the end!
Hi Kaleah,
I think the concept for your podcast, Food Coma sounds awesome! That intro snippet you found on Free Music Archive is a really good fit and is a perfect way to set the tone for a food review podcast. I really like how you used the ambient restaurant sounds. I do feel like the volume on the ambient sounds could have been a bit louder, to make it feel like you’re there, giving the review. The low jazz music in the background was a nice touch, too. It fills the space and keeps things interesting without taking away from your voice. Overall, the mix of voice, ambient sounds, and music works really well. Great job!
