My podcast series, The Virtual Violinist, is a classical music focused podcast. The host (me) is a musician who talks about news, culture, and pedagogue related to violin playing. In this snippet, I am discussing the recent auction of one of the most famous (and expensive) Stradivarius violins in the world.
The sound elements used in this podcast snippet are as follows:
- Voice: myself speaking (0:03-0:29)
- Sound effect: self-recorded violin plucking, which occurs right after I introduce my podcast name (0:07)
- Ambient sounds: an orchestra tuning before a concert (0:00-0:03)
- Music: a snippet from a classical music piece by Bach, which occurs after the intro when I start discussing the main topic (0:13-0:30)
Hello Jocelyn!
Your voice was articulated clearly in the audio, complementing the ambient sound. Excellent placement of sound effects, too. The final product sounds great! It gives me the vibes of an ad but also sets up a great premise for a podcast. Well done!
Hey Jocelyn,
The idea for your podcast, The Virtual Violinist, sounds very interesting. I love how you focus on classical music and how you included not only news, but culture, and violin pedagogy as well. The topic of Stradivarius auction is super great, not only is it fascinating from a historical and cultural perspective, but it’s also something that can appeal to music lovers and musicians. Your perspective as a musician adds so much authenticity to the conversation. Your voice was clear throughout the audio clip and your choice in music was a good touch. I also like the image you chose of the woman playing the violin, it is a nice touch. Great work!
Hey Jocelyn, I found your idea for your podcast very creative. I myself have not heard of a classical music podcast and find the idea very intriguing. Music and instruments are loved by many, so I can see this podcast being appealing to many. Regarding your audio, everything sounds crisp and clear. The music in the background is the perfect touch to deliver the news of the auction. For your picture, in the title, I believe the T and V should be capitalized. Other than that, the picture pairs well with the subject, and the audio sounds good.
