I’m Sara. I live in Orlando, Florida and work as a Media Specialist at a public high school. I’m pursuing the MSI degree with FSU and I am excited to say I’ll be graduating this May.
In true media specialist fashion, I enjoy reading novels. I read every day before bed. Other interests of mine include The Sims 4 (I have been playing The Sims since its inception in 2000), baking, and live music. I am not, by any means, a musician but I am a music-lover and avid concert-goer. The most recent concert I attended was David Kushner this past November.

I’m looking forward to having fun in this course. I always struggle with library programming and I’m eager to learn how to create and use media resources to support learning in my media center.
Hi Sara! It’s nice to meet you. I also live in the Orlando, FL area and taught secondary English in the area for a few years during the pandemic. Now I work at a college library. Becoming a Media Specialist is one of my potential career interests post graduation, would you mind sharing what your day-to-day looks like? Or perhaps what you enjoy about the job? As a book lover myself (shocker), what are some of your favorite genres? I’m always open to recommendations. Also, I love the Sims!! I’m impartial to the Sims 2 Deluxe though. I did just purchase MySims for the Nintendo Switch, and while it doesn’t compare to the full PC game, it’ll help scratch that itch. I don’t have too much feedback for you, other than potentially including captions underneath your photos–when/if applicable. This will not only accommodate users with various impairments, but also aid in providing additional context to readers. Other than that, great post. Have a wonderful semester! 🙂
Hi Sara,
Nice to meet you! Congratulations on reaching your final semester! Like you, I am also an avid reader. I try to read at least once a day, and this year, I have started tracking the number of books I read! What kinds of books do you enjoy reading? I am a fan of thrillers, murder mysteries, and the occasional fantasy novel. Shouting out The Sims is awesome! My sister has played it for as long as I can remember. I’m really into RPG games and Battle Royale games myself. I am excited to start this semester with you and look forward to gaining valuable knowledge together!
Take care!
Hey Sara,
Congratulations on making it to your final semester! That is an amazing accomplishment and I wish you the best of luck in your future pursuits. It is good to know I am not the only one out here still playing Sims! I got into when Sims 4 came out, so not nearly as dedicated as you are, but I do put about 80 hours into it once in a while all at once then don’t touch it for a year or so, then come back and do it again. I am also a huge live music fan, last big one I went to was Santana I got to take my momma with me to see him in Tampa last year, but we love to check out local artists frequently. I love the pics too! Y’all look so happy. Looking forward to seeing more from you this semester!
Thanks!
Kiani
