Hi Ciara! I think the picture you chose makes total sense with Article 12! We do so many day-to-day activities that unknowingly let thousands of people into our lives, and it doesn’t really seem like major tech companies are doing enough to fix it. Your security cameras emphasize our desire for privacy and what those of us who have the means can try to do to secure it, but they also make me think of surveillance cameras (or bots in our computers) that are spying on us all the time. All the shades of brown and tan in your image go together nicely. The dark brown color for the background of your text box matches the shadow of the camera, and the way you have cropped the photo and located the text box makes the shadow point right to the important words “Everyone has the right to protection of the law.” The dark color fill for the text box emphasizes the lighter color text, and choosing a plain background for your text box really makes it look like a bulletin that would be stuck on that wall. I like that you went with a serif font for the article text; it looks like something that would be on an official government document. The bold, all-caps text for the article number also looks good on the wall, like the sort of letters or numbers people use on their house or mailbox. One tiny suggestion is to put the title of your new image in quotation marks in your attribution and add licensing for yourself as the new creator.
Hi Ciara. Great image and article 12 supports it well. With so many crimes occurring security cameras for protection are important. The color scheme and fonts work well together. The cropping of the image provides enough of the camera and wall that it’s not too much but enough to support each other. All links work, great job on the assignment.
