As interesting as the trees and landscape are in photos there’s nothing like catching a glimpse of the local wildlife. I like to imagine the original photographer of this image had no intentions of capturing highland cattle in the wild but stumbled across them. Pleasantly surprised they took this photograph with the goal of capturing the entire scene with the cattle as their focus.
The original image features a couple of highland cows, the one in the background is not looking at the camera and instead focused on grooming itself. It’s very difficult to get wild animals to stay still for your photos little own pose for it.

For this reason, I have decided to crop him out of the photo and focus on the cow in the foreground. In the original image you can’t really see the emotion on the cattle’s face, cropping it allows a closer look upon the cattle exposing his emotion toward the camera man. He looks almost frightened but more so annoyed that his lunch has been interrupted.
Hello! Looking at the original and then the cropped pic, the mood of the cropped pic makes it look like he’s a lonely little cow for some reason. I like that you cropped everything else out so you could see the curiosity on the cow’s face as he looks at the camera. I noticed that you cropped pretty close to his nose on the left side and wondered what it would have looked like if you would have kept a little more of the open space on that side since you are trying to draw attention to his face.
It is such an animal reaction to get one animal looking at the camera while the other is ignoring you at the same time. The overall image has a lot going on that causes many distractions. The trees cast doubt about the season the photon is taken in. A lingering thought as to what the other cow is up to begins to disturb the thinking process. Maybe the idea of where these cows are going. I think you picked a solid focal point for the second image. Based on the placement of the cow’s face, according to the rule of thirds, I can tell that the facial expression of the cow is our primary focus here. The cow’s bangs are pretty interesting. I wonder what kind of hairstyles can be derived.
Hello! Animals always fascinate me, to me they always seem to have that look where they want to say something but as humans, we just cannot comprehend. Of course, at times we can understand what mood the animal happens to be in. In the cropped image, they look to be down as if something is wrong. Although a lot was captured in the image, you made a great choice of cropping what seems to be the main character. I can’t say if I have ever seen a cow like this before, yet again I am not super into wildlife like that. I wonder where this image was taken.
