We celebrated Mother’s Day 2023 with family and friends. My aunt was being installed as a mother at her church that Sunday, so several of us decided to surprise her and attend church service. After church we went to brunch and the picture is one of many we took outside the restaurant. The picture is of my mother and daughter. By cropping the picture, I was able to take away the distractions in the background. The dark color car in the parking lot you can barely see and not much of the railing is show. Also, the white chair and the two cars on the road are not visible. The cropping showed a full picture of the ladies and gives a closer look of their beautiful smile. It shows the joy of a meemaw who normally does not take pictures excited to smile for the camera and share a picture with her granddaughter.
Shonda you captured a lovely photo of your mother and daughter. The cropping of the photo helped to remove the distractions and focus solely on the two ladies and their expressions. I don’t think the cropping changed the meaning of the original image but enhanced the meaning. My notes on improvement would be to maybe choose a bigger photo with more pixels. It would allow for more clarity and opportunity to crop in order to follow the rule of thirds.
Hello Shonda. I love the picture of your mother and daughter. Both of them look so good in red. I like how you crop the photo to take away the distracting background. It gives us more focus on your mother and daughter. The cropped photo also seems less pixelated than the original photo. One suggestion I can give is to give a link to the creative commons license you chose for your photo. Great job!
