I have always been fascinated with pandas because of their black and white fur, size, and playful demeanor. As a child I remember going to the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C. and being able to see the Giant Pandas. They were always my favorite. I recently learned that the pandas were sent back to live in China. To show my appreciation for the joy that the Giant Pandas brought me, I decided on the image of a panda.
I was drawn to the audio because of the peace and tranquil feeling it offers. Also, because of the bamboo flute that can be heard in the background. As pandas’ diets are made mostly of bamboo, I thought it was a fun way to find a common ground between the chosen audio and image.
When the image and audio are combined, I believe they are enhanced. The audio enhances the calmness of the panda.
Hi Marshaye!
I love that you chose an image of something you love! Pandas are obviously adorable, so for me, the image automatically conjured warm, happy feelings. I agree that the music you chose has a peaceful tone, like something that might be played in a spa.
I think it was especially creative that you chose something with the bamboo flute to fit the subject. It certainly enhances the image; you could almost see the bamboo swaying, whistling and knocking together in the breeze. Another option might have been a piece of traditional Chinese music, which would touch on the origins of the panda and even their return to China.
I don’t really have any technical notes; everything in your post seems to be working and formatted just fine. I guess my only suggestion might have been a photo showing more of the bamboo since it’s not super obvious at a glance, but overall I think this is great!
Hey Marshaye! I’m so happy you chose a panda for this assignment. Pandas are one of my favorite animals (well, bears in general). He is absolutely adorable and looks like he is on the verge of taking a nap.
Also, I had no idea that the pandas were sent back to China. I’ll definitely have to do some reading on that.
I think that the music pairs very well with the panda. The panda is relaxed and the music is relaxing, but I do have to agree with Leesa. Traditional Chinese music would have enhanced the image even further. Using traditional music would just transport the viewer to a specific place. Again, I do really like the music you chose because of how peaceful it is.
All of the links in your post work perfectly fine! Nice job 🙂
Hello Marshaye! I love your panda photo and audio. When I first heard the audio, I was transported to the China pavilion in Epcot. I also loved watching the pandas in zoos as a kid. Here is some good news: it seems that the pandas might be coming back by late 2024. Here is a link to an article I found: China suggests giant pandas could return to US by end of 2024 | The Hill.
The audio and photo work well together. The panda photos invite a sense of calm, as he is lounging on the log with the pile of bamboo. The audio also fits. I especially like the bamboo flute. It gives it an extra flair. Another audio you could use for this photo is wind blowing in bamboo.
All the links seem to work. Great job! I hope the pandas will be coming back soon.
Hi Marshaye!
I liked your panda photo and audio combo! I have a lot of friends who live up in DC so the news of the panda’s going back to China has been a hot topic among us and a few of them made special trips to the zoo to make sure they could see them one last time.
The audio is very calming and I think it works well with the photo. For some reason I could imagine Po from Kung Fu Panda dancing to this lol. It was a great touch of finding an audio with a bamboo flute!
All the links worked as well. Great job!
