What drew you to the image/audio selection?
From a young age, I’ve always loved birds. Something about peacocks drives my curiousity. Maybe, its the specific mix of colors.
Does the meaning change or is it enhanced when the two are combined?
The picture of the peacock, by itself, portrays a peaceful and majestic moment in nature. Once the audio is associated with the photo, the meaning or feeling is changed in an unexpected way. The bird developes a deviant auro that resembles a serious moment on the catwalk of a fashion show.

I have to be honest, I would’ve never expected to hear this sound with this picture. When I first heard it and looked at your photo, I imagined the peacock break dancing, silly enough.
What other sounds did you consider pairing? I think if I were to use this picture to complete this post I would’ve selected something like a ballad. Like you, I imagine the peacock as a majestic bird, one that deserves a grand, sweeping song to play around it.
Of, course yours is much more fun!

This was definitely an unexpected pairing to me! I think for myself, like Dakotah said, I would’ve chosen something elegant like a ballad when thinking about the magnificence of a peacock. However, your track immediately made me think of how peacocks strut around, proving how efficient that unanticipated audio matches with the photo. The photo depicts the peacock in mid-strut and I like your comparison to strutting down a catwalk, I can absolutely picture it in my mind.
This is the most minor technical feedback and I think of personal taste, too, but when a single photo is the focus of the post I think it might be beneficial for it to be centered. That way the white space on the right doesn’t take seem so distracting.

I couldn’t help but chuckle at your audio choice, and I definitely think it enhances the image of the peacock. Peacocks expand their train (their most decorative feathers) when they are searching for a mate and attempting courtship. Thus, your use of an audio clip that is similar to a fashion show demonstrates exactly that boldness and dominance.
When viewed separately, I attach the more spiritual meanings to the peacock image. Peacocks are often symbols of new beginnings, spiritual rebirth, and beauty. The image itself highlights those qualities. Likewise, the audio clip by itself makes me think of flashing lights and paparazzi. It seems a sound more fitting for a celebrity, and not necessarily a bird. However, together, I see your point and it makes sense – I can visualize it.
As others have said, a ballad would have worked. However, my choice would have been classical scores from ballets or operas. I do think any sounds that are bright and energetic would have also worked, such as audio with “twinkling” components/bells.
My comments for improvement are minor. I would have made the picture of the peacock stretch across the width of the blog – this would help the image feel superior and have it be the “star.” I also would have liked to hear more from you about your motivations for the blog portion, such as your favorite bird or what curiosity is heightened through birds. I also didn’t know if the audio allowed you to visualize something outside the frame such as the environment the peacock is in or their potential mate, etc.
