I liked the use of repetitive images throughout the video in different-length clips, it was a nice way to enforce the message that climate change is happening. The theme was very clear, climate change is happening and creating havoc on the planet, but the call to action was easy to miss. While there were shots of climate change activists and a Tesla (electric car), and a brief text element “raise your voice for a better world” it wasn’t clear to me if the call to action was to get involved in protesting, advocacy, or purchasing electric cars.
The image of the horses was pretty, but I didn’t connect it completely to climate change. Are the horses running from a bad environment? Is their habitat being destroyed? They looked happy and majestic which threw me off from the other images that were either very landscape-focused or environmental impact focused. The image of money was used several times and held for longer beat than necessary, the incorporation of maybe a different image to represent money, like shopping, or people with shopping bags could have been a nice alternative to break up the meaning.
The images of the flooded and devastated areas were effective, and I would have loved to see them juxtaposed with some before photos of towns or cities built close to rivers and bodies of water, alongside the iceberg images to center a focus on the idea of water and it’s part in the results of climate change.
Overall the timing of the edits was in pace with the music, and the rapid cuts at the beginning were effective in setting the stage for the impending doom of the planet with climate change.
Hi Saleh,
The images you used clearly conveyed the message you intented to tell to the viewers. The images are so powerful and literally shout to the viewers about the urgency of the matter (climate change). The repetition of the images insisted on the message except for few like the “bit coin” image and “horse” image. Before even playing your video, I was fascinated to see the connection between the beautiful horses shown in the thumbnail of the video and the title of the post “Climate change”. I don’t know if I missed anything but I don’t understand the context of using the images of horses in this theme. May be you mean “time is running fast as horse” and so we need to act fast? I observed three images stating the solution to climate change – 1) voicing it out 2) buying Electric vehicles 3) planting trees. As much as your video sends an alarming message about climate change , a few more images on “what to do” to end it would have enriched the video. The fast cuts of the images synced well with the music. The edits are almost precisely done throughout the video. Overall, it is a great video with a compelling message.
