Samantha and I are two friends who love music and pop culture. We’ve always thrown around podcast ideas, but this podcast is about two music lovers wasting time and making jokes about pop culture. Initially, I thought about making a K-pop podcast, then thought we could talk about our favorite thing, reality TV. I decided to make it vague so that I could talk about all those things, mainly music. I used Adobe Audition to put our 30-second podcast together. I made the music fade gradually but tried to adjust the music volume, so it wasn’t distracting from our voices. I like collecting albums, vinyl, and cassettes to support my favorite artists; Therefore, I chose a cassette tape for the album image and audio sound effect. My sound effect describes the sensation of getting ready to listen to something or the idea of listening to audio with intention, which both my friend Samantha and I do. I polarized the Cassette tape image into four colors and made each color brighter to make it more pop art.

Hi Dahlia. As an avid music listener and someone who is usually behind the times when it comes to pop culture, I love the idea of a music podcast that also covers modern news. I’m not really a fan of gossip blogs and other mainstream celebrity news sources but podcasters tend to give “the SparkNotes” of an incident, something more tolerable. This podcast seems like it will be an upbeat one with two friends who are genuinely enjoying themselves and their mutual interests. The audio levels were perfect. I don’t think the music was too loud over your voices or vice versa. I enjoyed this!
