During the 1936 Olympic Games that were held in Berlin, Germany during the height of the Nazi’s Power. I can only imagine what they felt when a African American man won over what they thought of the “better man”. I felt the image was fitting during Black History month as a tribute to African American people because Jessie Owens overcame so many obstacles. When I saw this image it made me think of freedom and how everyone should be treated equal as long as they have respect and humanity towards the other person. (I’m also writing this as a caption so the image will not be misunderstood, that I am in no way for the Nazi’s idea)
Hi Jeffrey,
I love the image selected and the color font selected for this typography assignment. The red contrast with the black and white image makes the font pop on the screen. The font selected has a straightforward feel. With all caps for the description of the article is makes the viewer feel the importance of equality and the true meaning of “Article 1”. The placement of the text is good, it doesn’t distract from the image of Jesse Owens atop the podium. Overall, very well done!
Hi Jeffrey,
I absolutely liked your image. The red font seems to scream the article into the readers’ ears. The image is so powerful and your post adds more force to it. It was a good idea to write about the image to avoid misinterpretations. That too, writing such a post during black history month adds more meaning and value to it. Looks like you used this assignment as an opportunity to show your statement. I appreciate it. Great work!
