Looking for images, I wanted to find a picture of a crowd to pick someone who stood out. Immediately when I saw this photo, I thought people looked bored at the game rather than the expected excitement. I wanted to make a different focus for the picture. The original photo is an image of a crowd of people on their phones or eating, implying a lull in the action. But I wanted to focus on one particular subject—a man reading during a game. Something about a man bringing a magazine to a sporting event is funny. I wanted to crop out the rest of the crowd to focus on my new focus- the reading man. Originally I wanted him to be the only subject of the composition but cropping it further decreases the quality significantly, and it becomes less a focus on a man and more a study of pixels. I also wanted to crop it in such a way as to keep some of the other bored participants. Whatever this game was, it must not have been going well.

What an original photo that is. There are so many things you can crop out of this one. For me, I would have cropped the guy across from what you originally cropped out of. The grimace on that old man’s face explains it all!
The change of title is also well done. From “Crowd” to “The Bad Game”. The title itself explains it all.
I bet they were watching the Bucs play. Trust me, my face was like that for most of the season!
Your cropping is great because I can see the spacing in between people, the center is well noted, but with the other people around him — it blends in.

Hi Kyle, I like the image you picked for this one. From the original you can see the crowd kind of disengaged, some looking around not focused on the game. The person you chose to highlight reading a magazine during the game perfectly demonstrates his lack of interest in the action taking place. With the crop I thought you picked a good person to include with the disinterested magazine reader. The gentlemen to the left has a bit of a bewildered look as he gazes toward the game. One other option could have been to crop the image and focus on the girl in the top row, more focused on her phone than the game! Only improvement or edit I could suggest is crop the man from the far right of the image, leave the two you picked plus the girl sitting a row in from of them. Overall, great job!
