I love this image because it shows a male figure standing on a tall building where he can see his surroundings below him, making him feel like he is top of the world. He is so high up in the building that the other buildings look so tiny. With how great the picture looked, I felt it could look even better. Some things I noticed are that the male subject is located at the center of the image and doesn’t really draw the attention of viewers of the image. Also, the space dedicated to the sky is also quite a bit excessive and eats quite a bit of the picture.

I wanted to create an illusion from the picture where people who look at the picture can actually visualize him walking. Cropping the image using the rule of thirds let me accomplish that, this also drew more attention to his shadow to give it more depth. Now you can see the background around the male figure pop even more, giving it more depth. I also decided to reduce the space at the top of the picture as I thought it showed too much cloud space. Now it shows just a little and isn’t distracting to people looking at the picture.
The image you chose is fantastic. The height and view of the city below is awesome. What’s intriguing is the way his foot is slightly back, like he is hesitant to be that close to the glass. It lends to the viewer to creating a story to go along with the image. I like how you changed the perspective by moving the man left you gave more attention to the shadow and less to the sky. The dichotomy of the shadow and bright sky is very appealing and make derivate you created pop. I probably would have over cropped and took out even more of the cloudy sky that is above the top metal piece. Stunning work!
Hi, Adam! The photo you chose really focuses on the scenery and the incredible view—my eye was drawn to the sky and the river, and almost skipped over the person. Your cropped version draws the viewer in, and made me feel almost like I was standing there next to the central figure. Great job! You effectively changed the entire feeling of the photo. If you were to change anything, I think you could cut even more of the image; the silver bars near the top of the photo become just a little distracting without more of the sky over them.
