Hi There!
My name is John Russell.

I currently live on the Space Coast in Titusville, Florida. I work for the Brevard County Libraries and am currently in my second to last semester of the MIS program here at Florida State University. It is my goal to run my own library some day. Libraries have been my passion for many years and I feel extremely lucky to have the opportunity to go to work each day to make meaningful contributions to my community.
In my free time I like to read, travel, and pay around with new technology. I just returned from a trip to the Caribbean and one of the places we visited was San Juan, Puerto Rico. Here is a photo of me in front of the Biblioteca Carnegie.

Hi John, Great job on your media post. Happy to know that you are almost near to your graduation. Your job is my dream job. You are so lucky to have a job where your passion lies. Not everyone has that opportunity. As a bibliophile, I know how much joy it is to work amidst the smell of books. I totally admire your goal. I am surprised to read about your goal because (believe-it-or-not), it’s been my dream to build a library in my home village in India. I wish you all the best in achieving your goal. I enjoyed browsing through the page about Biblioteca Carnegie.
Hey John! Nice to see another short timer in the program! I saw that you said that you’d like to run your own library one day and that sounds like a great idea, especially for someone of your background and passion. I imagine since you are a person who likes to play around with technology, that you will be incorporating lots of new and developing technologies throughout your library. Also, when you start running your library, I hope you will be sure to continue the long tradition of ‘Game Day at Your Library’! It’s a fun and community engaging event that in my experience, draws in a lot of people, especially those young adults.
