Hi, everyone! My name is Savanah Byers, and I was born and raised in Central Florida. I currently live in Parrish and work as a Guidance Clerk for an Elementary School which keeps me on the run. This is my last semester in the MSI program, and I will be graduating this Spring with a certificate in School Librarian Leadership.
You can find me either running with my wonderful dog, Duncan, or cuddling with my beautiful cat, Nova. I also enjoy bullet journaling (or crafting) in my free time. A fun fact about me is that I have had the awesome experience of traveling to New Zealand which I hope to have the privilege to revisit. I am not an active member of the social community, but I do have an Instagram account: @sav_byers.

I have worked in the school system since I graduated with my BA in Elementary Education in 2017. I was teaching Kindergarten when I realized I was ready for a slight change and found, through experience, that I wanted to work in a library. I am looking forward to this class building my toolbox and learning how to be creative in a new way.
Love you post! I of course love animals, and have cats, dogs, (as you know) and alot of aquariums. I used to volunteer at the National Aquarium in Baltimore – behind the scenes nd became familiar with alot of the animals there through studies, working with dolphins, various birds from the rainforest exhibits, and loved the fish in the Australian exhibit. I worked with a friend from Australia and we still do things together occasionally. When I lived in Mexico, I worked with a colleague that was in the Lower School library, (I as in the Upper School) and she is from New Zealand, so that was exciting to hear about various aspects of the environment there. I want to visit Australia and New Zealand more than anything for sure. I love the idea of bullet journaling, I had no idea what it was, looked it up and it seems fascinating to me! Love your heading as it is what I expect to see on a tshirt and love this mantra. Love the images you used, they are great perspectives and colorful, and the links you added worked effortlessly and seem to just go with the flow of your overall writing. Nicely done!
The first line of the post above should be “Love your post.” and later on, this – (I as in the Upper School) should be I WAS in the Upper School). Interesting how typing so fast and how easy it is to leave out a letter here or there 🙂
Hello Savanah!
Awesome, I went to UCF for my first bout in college before coming back to my hometown in Tampa.
Congrats on being at the finish line for the MSI Degree! This is my second semester and unfortunately, I have to go slow through the program. But, the positive side is my work is paying for us to attend. So I can’t complain any.
I would love to explore New Zealand! What did you do over there? The closest I got to there was when I was in Australia for 2 weeks. That was so much fun.
Goodness. Congrats on having a career in the school system. I do presentations for 8th graders about Finance and then bail out! I don’t know how you do it, kudos to you.
