Hi Casey,
I was able to pick up your theme of women voting and enjoyed your video. It was more of a subtle argument throughout without any overbearing tones. It did not blatantly address women making their vote count but showed the freedom we all enjoy when voting. The images enhanced the audio but did not reinterpret the meaning of the song. For example, the video displayed shoes and currency when the music was also talking about those items. Showing some photos with women voting possibly in other countries as well could enhance your meaning even more. The timing of the edits did not go along with the “beats” of the music but rather the lyrics. You were able to add some variety in the timing which matched the lyrics and literal meaning. Seeing some edits to match the “beats” could help emphasize your theme even more. Otherwise, good job!
Hi, Casey. I like the theme of your video, which I interpret to be about the empowerment of women based upon their spending choices. Some of the images directly represent the song lyrics, but I feel like the takeaway builds upon the theme of the song in a subtle way. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add a wider variety of images to represent the ways women might spend their money. I like the way some of the images change to the pace of the lyrics. Overall, a great video.
