Hi Angela,
I like your idea of spending versus investing. The first part of the video clearly showed the theme of spending with credit cards and fancy cars. It was not overly overt as only one picture showed currency whereas the rest was the effects of spending. I had a little harder time with the investment side. I was able to see some of the contrast with the homeless man and possibly the consequences of not investing in renewable energy.
Your images did a good job not taking the audio literally. They enhanced your point in the video with spending and then contrasting that with investing in renewable energy. The only one I was slightly confused about was the last image with children and kindness on the window. I did not see how that related to the rest of the meaning.
Also, the timing and pacing of the edits did not seem to flow with the “beats” of the music throughout the entire clip. The first few, however, went with the music but then the rest seemed to be slightly off or changed at different times. I did notice some variety in the timing with one photo dissolve transition. Also, the Ken Burns effect can be extremely useful but using it on every photo can diminish the effectiveness of it. Otherwise, good job.
Nice video Angela. Your theme was pretty clear in the beginning but I kinda got lost with the nuclear plant image. But then I picked back up to me with the theme. Your image transitions fluid with the beat of the music and was not off tempo. One question what was the meaning of the children and the word kindness? Investing for a future for our kids?
Hey Angela, I like your idea, but it seems a little discontinuous. I see how we are spending, but maybe work on how we are investing. I thought it was gonna be more about money, not just on investing in a greener planet. Maybe buying single use at the beginning. The images needed to tell a story a little more. The timing was good with the beats though.
