A Hundred Acres of Memories is a podcast in which we read through a chapter A.A. Milne’s 1926 classic novel Winnie-the-Pooh a week and spend time discussing how the themes relate to our lives. Children’s stories have had an undeniable effect on the world we live in today, and by speaking on its impact in our lives, we begin to see a fuller picture of the world.
Through the use of GarageBand and FreeSound, I positioned sound clips in this podcast to add a calm and sentimental feeling to the post. The sounds of the paper flipping and the cassette player flicking on to play the theme music are to simulate the feeling of reading a favorite book on a rainy day. The music I chose has a dreamy fantasy feeling, in order to fully capture the vibe of the Hundred Acre Woods.

Hi Elizabeth! What a wonderful podcast theme! I read Winne-the-pooh and the Faraway Tree to my children before our visit to England a few years back. We found a footpath in the lake district while we were there and my kids thought we had entered the enchanted woods. It is a favorite memory of mine. I would definitely become a listener. Currently, I listen to a couple read along podcast. After a few chapters, they will have a discussion on the themes and thoughts on what has been read. Your album art was spot on. The fonts were eye catching. The pop of yellow was placed perfectly. I loved the circles that made me think of stepping stones in the forest. Great job.
Hi Liz,
I can see the idea behind the old cassette tape and Winnie-the-pooh novel. This classic children’s book provides a great introduction to what your podcast intends. Not only the notion of an old masterpiece being played on a cassette tape but the page turn background let us be part of the notion that someone is reading the novel to us. If you introduce some kids in the background or the eco like we were inside a theater, this will bring extra credibility to your idea. Good job ma’am.
