Hey Cameron, when I saw the image, I did not understand how the fishing went with slavery. Your two fonts work well together. The yellow font brings your attention directly to the yellow, so you read it and what is below. Maybe an image of shackles would have been better than a fishing boat to give the image of slavery.
Hi Cameron!
After looking over your typefaces and image, I believe some elements support your overall message of freedom. The overexposed image creates more focus on the text but some of the image is difficult to see. It would have taken me a little bit to understand what they were doing without the title. The ticket/plaque shaped transparent background works well as it creates some distinction. It also creates meaning as a ticket to wherever the people want to go. The title as the only color creates a primary focus and leads the viewer to that corner. The fonts are possibly a little too similar, but you added different elements to separate them. Color and slight shading in the title works well with the over exposed shading in the image. I would possibly suggest using the other image’s version as it is not reversed or over exposed. This allows for some more detail and the ability to see the work difficulty and background detail. Otherwise, good job.
