Using Adobe Photoshop, I cropped the photo in order to alter its perspective. Pictures have the ability to tell stories in many different ways. The picture I selected is a great example of how this works. In the original picture, we can observe a large family posing for a picture. However, while some seem interested, others appear distracted.

By using the rule of thirds, I cropped most of the people out of this picture, leaving only two people, one of whom is staring into space and the other amused by what is happening in the background. We are left wondering what the ladies are looking at. They are each staring at something different. This is funny because people could actually use the image as a meme.
Hi Amaka! I definitely see what you mean when you say the edited picture could be used as a meme lol. By cropping the original picture in this way, you drastically changed the whole meaning of the picture which I think is really cool! In the original picture, all of my focus went to the group of people on the right without giving any attention to the girls on the left, but with the way you cropped the picture, you can see that the two girls tell a story on their own. It might have been funny to crop the two girls out of the picture to put the focus even more on the dysfunction of the bigger group but I like the direction you went. Good job!
Amaka,
I agree that your crop makes a great meme. Having a large family, the original picture looks like a normal group photo. There is never a shot that everyone is paying attention, looking at the camera with eyes open and smiling nicely. Especially when kids are involved, the original photo is the best one can expect. However, once cropped, your picture tells an entirely different story. I see the two ladies watching something crazy happening. The woman on the right has broken down laughing and is trying to hide her mirth. The woman on the left is either stunned or she is a public school employee trained in the ways of keeping a straight face.
