Hi Kayla,
This is a great picture. I don’t think I had fully understood the assignment, so this clears up some of what it should have looked like. The image of the police officer on a bike, just standing peacefully sets the tone for the Article you chose. I feel as if I am torn between looking at him and looking at the protestors. These people are simply demonstrating their rights, while the officer is still just observing. I’d be interested in knowing what they are protesting and if the police officer actually agrees with them or not. I like that you chose to place the words in a green box matching the banner, it makes it clear these are connected.
Hey Kayla,
One of the most challenging tasks as law enforcement is to be in the middle between freedoms and upholding the law. I participate in several of these types of demonstrations during my career and let me tell you, they are powerful when everyone chants at once. Although scary because everyone thinks you are the enemy but yet, powerful nevertheless. The picture selected definitely depicts the situation on the ground, the text selection fits the formality of the statement, and the article works perfectly as the message is disseminated.
