This is a picture of my mom’s cat, Freyja, sleeping on my lap from a few months ago. When I took the picture I left a lot of unnecessary background in it, that distracted from the focal point, which should be Freyja’s adorable sleeping face! So I cropped out the extra background as much as possible, and focused on Freyja’s face in the rule of thirds. I tried to include her little paw in the lower right corner, but the framing didn’t work right, so I did it this way.

What a sweet little face! Since I started to work from home, I definitely have been capturing more moments like these with my three cats. They have become my “moment of zen” on a busy workday. I agree that your crop image allows you to focus more on that special moment by removing the background noise in the first picture. The new picture makes me want to snuggle up with Freyja.
Hi Kestrel! Cute cat. I am not really a cat person, as I am allergic, but I can appreciate a good internet cat pic. I like the crop you did, it took out unnecessary stuff and let you just focus on the face of Freyja. I think you could maybe take the picture a little more zoomed out next time though, and then you could have gotten the paw in there when you went to crop the picture.
