My name is Jillyann Sanchez-Herman and my wife and I share a beautiful home with our four children who ages range from ages 3, 8, 13, and 18 years old. Libraries have been my life passion as I have spent twenty five years working in libraries throughout Florida from Miami all the way to Tallahassee.Since 2018 we have been foster parents and we ended up adopting two beautiful children a three year old girl and a 8 year old boy. The 13 year is my wife’s grandson that she adopted when he was 5 years old. The 18 year old came to live with us so he could be close to his 8 year old brother. We do hope in the future to help more children as we are passionate about helping children in the foster care system get a forever home.
When I not working at the FSU Law Library I’m running around town to baseball games or soccer games which ever one is in season and it is a wonderful time for my kiddos and I to spend quality time. School events also keep us busy between selling cookies or going to science fairs or a parent teacher meeting it is never a dull moment within our big family but I wouldn’t have it any other way !
Some of my hobbies include reading travel blog posts and following the latest sneakers about to release. My wife and I love to travel by ourselves and with our kids but unfortunately now in the times of Covid I’m left traveling through travel blogs. I have been interested in sneakers since I was 8 years old and I just love all the styles and colors that come out daily.
I’m currently pursuing my Masters of Arts in Information and I will be graduating in the Summer of 2022.I can’t wait to graduate since I have been pursuing this dream of becoming a librarian on and off for over 20 years ! Once, I get my degree I intend on applying for any public library Librarian jobs with my ultimate goal being a Head Librarian running my own branch. Throughout the years I have enjoyed helping library patrons with locating library materials as well teaching them about library resources.

Being in this program has opened my eyes to a whole new world. I never eve thought about someone being a librarian but I’ve grown to love their love for knowledge! I appreciate the work you are putting in to get your degree! Many blessings to you and your family. -Channetta
Hi, Jillyann! We are not in the same feedback group, but one of the people in my group has not yet posted, and I decided to stop by and say hello to you. Wow, bless you and your wife for being parents to four children! It is wonderful that you have adopted and helped two children who were in foster care. I am sure your lives must be jam-packed with activity.
I, too, live in Tallahassee. I have been a paralegal for many years and used to spend many hours at the FSU Law Library. Now that we do most research digitally, I rarely get over there. You have devoted many years to working in libraries, so it will be wonderful to finish your MSI. Congratulations, and best wishes as you search for a Librarian position.
