Hi everyone! My name is Emily Madril. I live in Tallahassee, Florida but was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. I’ve lived in Florida for 8 years now but I love the cold and can’t wait to live in a place that has all four seasons. I’m in my second semester in the MSIT program and got my undergrad degree in Computer Science.
But more importantly (to me) is my soccer career. I play for Florida State and we just won the National Championship in December, making that the second national title since I’ve been at FSU. I have one more year to play and hope to add another one. After that, my goal is to play professionally for as long as I can.

I am one of six kids and have a twin sister (who I am older than by 19 minutes and never let her forget it). My oldest sister has an almost 3 year old niece and we are all obsessed with her. My roommate and I are also cat moms to two boys named Remy and Emile like in the movie Ratatouille. Other than that, I like to read and listen to music in my spare time. I am excited to broaden my knowledge about media production as a whole in this class and I am looking forward to getting to be creative.

Hi Emily and what an amazing post!! How does it feel to be a 2 times soccer champion? The photo of you holding the championship trophy is pretty amazing. I can only imagine the thoughts and feelings that you had on that day. What would you say is your greatest accomplishment? Would it be being a 2 times national soccer champion?
Overall, I thought your post was very good and it shined a light into who you are as a person and athlete. How did you become interested in soccer? Also, you mentioned that you have lived in Florida for 8 years. What brought you to Florida. It’s very rare to hear someone say they like the cold but I think it is pretty neat that you like cold weather and that you want to move back to the colder temperatures one day.
On a personal level, I loved the photos of your family. I was trying to see you and your twin sister. I don’t have a twin sister but I do have a older sister. We are 4 years apart. Does anyone in your family play soccer too?
I really enjoyed reading your post and learning about your family, your athletic career and your other hobbies and interest. I hope that many more national championships are in your future. Thanks for sharing and great post!!
Hi Emily!!! Congratulations on 2 National Championships!!!! We were at the first game this season when y’all beat my undergrad university, Texas A&M. It was a great game!! I loved playing soccer growing up but had to quit in 8th grade. My daughter played with the city league for a few years and was always on a co-ed team. She was the only girl on her team and loved playing with the guys! Hope you get to add a 3rd trophy this coming season and that you get the opportunity to play professionally!
We moved from Texas to Florida and have been in Tallahassee for 16 years. What brought you from Idaho to Florida? Our girls had never seen snow, so one year, in January, we took them to see their cousins in Minnesota for a week! They snow skied, ice skated, went sledding and built a snow fort. They had a great time!!!! My oldest daughter experienced the snow in College Station, Texas a year ago – Texas does not handle flurries well – not to mention ALL the snow they got! She was without power for MANY hours but she and her friends made the most of it and played in it some too, of course!
Wow! 6 kids in your family! And a twin sister! I have twin nieces and they think it’s nice having a built in best friend! You’re niece is adorable! From your pictures, it looks like you have fun siblings!
I also love that you’re a cat mom! We have a dog and cat, Sugar and Gus. Gus is very skittish because he came from a feral mother and Sugar is hyper, so Gus stays on one side of the house and Sugar has the other side! HAHA!
I enjoyed meeting you through your post and I hope to get to visit again sometime!
Hi Again, Emily! I realized that I didn’t mention the presentation of your post itself! You did a great job with your post! It was well written with great information and I felt like I learned enough about you to see that soccer and family are the most important things in your life! You picked great clear pictures and I enjoyed looking at the links you included. Nice posting!!!
