About Me
Hello I am Keith Bennett and I currently live in Tallahassee Florida. I am originally from North Carolina where I experienced all four seasons every year. I enjoy being closer to the beaches and love warmer weather although Florida’s humidity truly beat you down, especially if your not from here. I currently attend Emerge Church which I have met some really awesome people and do life with. I am a very straight to the point kind of person, probably because I was raised by a military father who expected straight forward answers. Ironically that has helped me when I have to talk to senior leadership in my career. I currently work in IT security for Florida State University (FSU). I currently have a bachelors in business management, and a bachelors in information technology.
I am currently enrolled in the Master of Science Information Technology program and this is my last semester! I have loved the relationships and wonderful people I have met at FSU throughout undergraduate and graduate school. This has been quite the journey for sure, taken classes, working full time, and having a family. After I received my first bachelors degree, never in a million years did I ever think I would pursue a masters. I am truly thankful for the opportunity to be a first generation college graduate and soon to be a graduate of a advanced degree.
Hobbies
I am pretty chill and laid back but I do a few hobbies/activities that I like to do for fun. When I have time I really enjoy scuba diving which I have been a certified diver for some years. I also enjoy bowling and would love to obtain my pilots license one day. Learning to fly is just extremely expensive.
Hi Keith, nice smile, what brought you to Tallahassee from North Carolina? Is North Carolina nightlife different than Tallahassee as everything in the city closes at 11 pm? Are you an active member at Emerge Church, such as an usher or musician? My mother was an Elder in our church prior to her passing. Did you ever think of joining the military being that your father was in the military? Congratulation on being a first-generation College Graduate that must make your family proud? Wow, a certified scuba diver. I always wanted to go scuba diving but I am very afraid of drowning and my swimming skills are not that strong. You are many of many talents it seems, you end with wanting a pilot’s license is it only for a hobby or do you want to fly professionally? I wish you must success in your quest.

I enjoyed reading about your background, you mentioned that your father was in the military, so did y’all live anywhere else besides North Carolina? I know sometimes people travel a lot for a career in the military. But yes, Tallahassee summers can be truly brutal! You also said this is your last semester for the MSIT program. Congratulations! I work full time in addition to school so I understand what an undertaking that can be. Do you currently work in IT as well? And how amazing is that to be a first-generation college graduate. Double Congratulations! That’s incredible. What got you interested in scuba diving? I’m way to scared of scuba diving (and flying, so credit to you!) but it really does look like a very cool hobby. I’m excited to be in this class with you and hope you enjoy your last semester!
