Hello! My name is Sarah and I am from Cape May, New Jersey. I have a bachelor’s degree from Stockton University in Hospitality and Tourism Management. My husband is in the United States Coast Guard. We are able to travel all over the country! We named our animals after Coast Guard ships that we’ve been stationed at! In 2019, we moved from Cape Cod, Massachusetts down to Fort Pierce, Florida. (We do NOT miss the snow!) A couple of hobbies of mine are playing the piano, reading, and walking my dog!
I joined the Martin County Library System in February of 2020. I found that helping others in my community is something that I can be proud of and enjoy. I was recently promoted to senior library specialist at our Jensen Beach branch. I then joined FSU’s Master of Science in Information program to become a librarian. I tend to lean toward adult services, teaching basic technology classes, and organizing events.
This is my second semester at FSU and I am so excited for this class! I am ready to learn new skills that I can take with me, and help others on all my adventures!

So awesome to meet you! Congratulations on your recent promotion. I love the photos of Midgett and Ty! I imagine that traveling with your husband in the Coast Guard must always keep you on your toes. I have to say though, that mentioning that your pets are named after after Coast Guard ship that you’ve been stationed on does make ask are you in the Coast Guard? Are families stationed on ships in the USCG? But also, Midgett and Ty are close to pet names (please know that I love the concept of naming pets after ships), were those the full names of the ships or shortened versions?

That is really cool your husband is the U.S. Coast Guard. I think they are one of the coolest government agencies out there. I am from Miami and have a lot of different interactions with the Coast Guard and every time has been a great time. It is also really awesome you name your pets after Coast Guard ships. That is a very unique way to name your pets. I bet you do not miss the snow, you and your husband must really enjoy the new post here in Florida. I hope you have learned a lot with this program to help your future in the world of libraries.
