Hallo! Guten Abend (Good Evening) classmates. My name is Lynn. I am Vietnamese, but born and raised in Florida. I used to live in Seoul, South Korea for the last 2 years and just moved to Vilseck, Germany a few months ago. I am currently studying MSI and unemployed at the moment. But I am currently volunteering at a U.S. military library and helping run the Silent Book Club. My special interests are anime, video games, especially Animal Crossing, and journaling. In my spare time, I try to learn some German and explore around the economy to experience the German culture. Let’s just say I have been eating lots of schnitzels and bratwursts since living here.

Something that interests me about this class is the final project at the end of the semester. I am looking forward to making a creative story telling video. Something I hope to gain from it is this will help me improve with my video editing skills. With basic skills, experience, and knowledge of digital media, I hope to incorporate that into future videos I will create. I have been uploading YouTube videos about my life and my travels for some time, but my skills are basic and minimal. Feel free to check out my channel and see slight improvements of video quality over the years. I am still learning as I go though.
Hi Lynn, I am leaving a comment here for you this week, one of my group-mates didn’t post, and I have you next week. So I thought it was interesting that you moved to Germany. My girlfriend is from Frankfurt. I have been a couple of times, but both times in the winter. I want to come in the summer one day. I know what you mean about the food, I like “most” German meals, but not suarkraut. I think it is cool that you are documenting your journey on YouTube. I cannot bring myself to put my face out there yet on something I would be interested in. Do you enjoy working in the library? My Dad works in a library, but he is big into reading constantly. I hope in your travels you will get to be here for your graduation. How did you like Korea? I have never been, it’s never really been on my list. I have been to several other places in Asia though and enjoyed it. Good luck in the class, I hope it helps you improve your YouTube videos the way you want.
Hi Andy, Yeah, I love volunteering in a library. My only experience is with military libraries, so hopefully I can be employed at one in the future once I graduate with the MSI degree. I do not like suarkraut much either. I can only eat a small amount with my bratwurst. It is too sour. I liked Korea. It was fun being surrounded by so much Korean BBQ and fried chicken. The Koreans were all so nice and most of them spoke English. Hope you can visit Korea one day. It is worth the experience. Thank you, wish you luck in class too.
Hello! One of my group-mates did not post so I’m leaving a comment for you because your intro struck me! I really liked your Sailor Mars rave outfit unboxing video. It was so cute on you! I also love Sailor Mars, but Sailor Mercury is “my” sailor scout. She just always resonated with me as the shy, bookish, smart one. Plus I love her attacks, water is always my favorite element! What other anime are you into? I’m currently watching Sasaki to Miyano this season, which is thoroughly cute, and last night I started Cue, which is about seiyuu so it’s really interesting seeing the industry through this lense. I’m also working my way slowly through Vanitas no Carte, but I’m not up to date on last season so I’ve not started this season yet.
Anyway, as you can see, I’m a huge nerd, so if you ever want to chat sometime feel free to hit me up! ^_^
Hi Kestrel, thank you for liking my Sailor Mars video. I am a huge anime fan too. I used to love Sailor Mercury too since I like the water element compared to fire. But Sailor Mars has the beautiful long black hair that I wish I had. My favorite animes are Avatar: The Last Airbender, Studio Ghibli movies especially Spirited Away, Fruits Basket, Baki, and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. I enjoy all varieties of anime. I have not watched the animes you mentioned, but I can check them out too. So much anime to watch, so little time. For sure, we can message each other and talk about anime. I would love that. =^w^=
Lynn,
I clearly understand the problem you are facing. Frankfurt became the hub for all my travelings and extra adventures while stationed in Europe. I was always on the run supporting the American Consulate in Frankfurt; therefore, the Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof became my quick breakfast and dinner spot. So if you decide to adventure and try other schnitzels and bratwursts on the go, visit HBF.
I am looking forward to your final design with a touch of the good old German culture and Vietnamese flavor; as per the Florida sun, it will be waiting for your prompt return. In the meantime, keep my fellow military troops in check.

Hello Lynn, it’s so nice to get to know you and I’m glad we can relate to the experience of moving to a new environment. I recently subscribed to your YouTube channel, so I’m looking forward to seeing where you go with this class and the ideas you will generate. I also have a best friend who is very interested in anime. She has been trying to get me to watch it for quite some time. Do you have any recommendations?
Thank you Amaka for subscribing to my YouTube channel. I appreciate it. I would recommend any anime by studio Ghibli such as Kiki’s Delivery Service, Spirited Away, and My Neighbor Totoro. Most or any of the Ghibli movies are good starters to get into it. That was how I got hooked into this new genre.
Also, I’m considering starting a YouTube channel, but I’m camera shy. Can you give me any tips? I have never tried any German meals, but I think I will give it a try if I can find a restaurant that serves it.
Some tips about starting a YouTube channel are to find your niche. Or try out different niches. I feel like YouTube is overwhelmed with so many kinds of videos from travel vlogs, how to, video game/movie/TV shows reviews, and among others. It feels like it might be difficult to find something that will make your channel unique and stand out. Or you can start small and try voice over videos sort of like a podcast. No need to show your face on camera.
