Archive of a Girl

“Archive of a Girl” by Hannah Hargraves is licensed under Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International. Made with Davinci Resolve and uploaded to Youtube.

Told from my present self, I look back on the little girl I used to be full of naivety and wonder. Told in poetry storytelling form, I look back at my younger self, who is the same person as me but also completely different. I wants to be a child again and wish I had not wished it away hoping to be a grown up, but she realizes that childlike wonder she thought she had lost is still within her if she goes back and sees what brought that her that feeling in simple things.

Some of the video assests within my video are photos and videos I took, or that were taken of me as a child, and a couple recent videos of myself taken on my personal camera. I also used my own voice for the audio narration, reciting my own poetry that I wrote.

I used Davinci Resolve to edit my video, edit my audio, and to crop and fit my images. I orginally recorded the narrstion on Voice Memos on my computer and downloaded the file onto Davinci. I used Chat GPT to edit my title image, which is a personal image of my own as a child that I had Chat GPT edit and add the title on top.

A phone, A message, A lesson

A Phone, A Message, A Lesson” by Oi Kwan Lui is licensed under CC BY 2.0

Synopsis:

After losing a phone, the protagonist experiences anxiety and frustration but learns an unexpected lesson about kindness when a stranger returns it. The story is told from the owner’s perspective and reflects on trust in everyday life.

Creation:

The video was created using CapCut. For the protagonists, I chose Japanese anime–style visuals. I was able to find images and video clips on Pixabay and Freepik, and a few additional images were generated with AI. The narration was produced using ElevenLabs’ “Text to Speech Generator” with the Eleven Multilingual V2 model. I selected the Terra voice because her tone has a slightly Asian quality, which fit well with the anime theme of the story.

Walter’s Quest for Knowledge

Walter’s Quest for Knowledge by Jazmin Jimenez (licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0)
Created with iMovie, exported as 1080p H.264
Title Page, Alligator Disclaimers, and Credits edited with Canva

Synopsis: Walter the Alligator was on a quest for knowledge. He wanted to go where he could only dream of, his local library! From the comfort of his home in Lake Okeechobee, he must traverse the human land and reach the library.

Content & Creation: Media, including photos and videos, were primarily shot by me. Some photos of the alligators were found online on Pexels and Wikimedia Commons to fill in pieces of the story. I also included a photo from PBC’s Fire Rescue’s Instagram. I used it following the Fair Use copyright law, per category 6 (recombine elements to make a new work). I used iMovie to edit the video and Canva to create the title page, disclaimer slides, and credit pages. I narrated it, and I included a song in the background from Audionautix. I also used sound effects from Sound Jay for the lake/water sounds, footsteps, pages turning, and the splash when Walter is released back into the lake.

Playback from the Donation Bin

“Playback from the Donation Bin” By Jaclyne Jones. 2026. Licensed CC BY 4.0

Synopsis: This story is about a portable CD player, discarded at a Goodwill, waiting to be picked up by someone in the year 2026. On the electronics shelf sits the discman, lumped together with a bunch of cords and alarm clocks, who begins to reminisce on his time with his previous owner. The story follows the point of view of the CD player, who feels largely forgotten by society and is just waiting to be noticed by someone, hoping for a chance to be useful again.
Media Assets/Software: All visual and audio content is originally produced by me, with some help from my partner. I recorded nearly everything on an old iPhone for a more vintage feel to accentuate the nostalgia I was trying to evoke. The rest was filmed on a newer iPhone for more precision aspects. The consistent background music is provided by Incompetech. I utilized Canva Pro for all editing needs, downloaded as an mp4, and uploaded to YouTube.

How to Sew a Dress

How to Sew a Dress by Emma Preston. 2026. Licensed under CC BY NC-SA 4.0.

This digital story shows myself walking through the process of sewing a dress, from picking out the fabric to cutting to constructing. While the process is shown, I will tell the story of how my grandmother taught me how to sew, how it has shaped my life, and helped me overcome the challenge of perfectionism. I shot all of the video clips on an iPhone 13 and edited with Canva. I used Adobe Podcast to edit the recording.

My Last Call

“My Last Call” by Kenneth Jones, is licensed under Canva Pro Content License

Synopsis: The last payphone in the city reflects curiously on its decline from essential urban lifeline to forgotten corner fixture, wondering why people now carry glowing screens instead of waiting by their side for important calls. Through memories of anxious conversations and real plans made decades ago, the phone questions whether human connection has truly changed or if it’s just hiding somewhere. Told from the pay phone’s first-person perspective. He is curious, puzzled, and quietly bewildered and is shown through contemplative voice over narration.

Media Assets/ Software: I used mostly Canva pro media assets for the making of this video as well as used Canva video editor to construct the final product. None of the content used was originally derived from myself and the only slight changes made to any of the content was with the final bit of audio to which reverb and distortion was added. I wanted to use moving images this time around and am happy with the results. Video was exported at 1080p and then uploaded to YouTube.
