Kelly,
I loved to see the creativity you brought to this post. The image you chose to represent the freedom to express opinions and ideas is perfect. It was cool to see a different perspective on this article. Instead of depicting someone sharing their opinions verbally (which would have been my thought when using this article for this assignment) you chose to do this through art. I think that is a refreshing take. It seems that the main focus here is the image. Adding the color behind the text definitely makes it easier to read and makes it stand out amongst the colorful back drop. Well done!
I very much enjoyed your take on this project! The vivid colors and different lines definitely give the feeling of freedom of expression. I like that you chose to put the text on an angle to mimic some of the other diagonal lines. The choice of background colors (both the purple and gold) also complement the picture while making the text stand out. Great job here!
Hi Kelly,
I love the colors, as purple is one of my favorites to use. This artwork instantly makes me think of Freedom when I see it. I can almost hear the Star Spangled Banner being played by Jimi Hendrix as I look at this, a great pairing with Article 19 for sure.
I liked your choice of quote font and that you rotated it so it points towards the head. The choice to place “Article 19” below the head of Jimmy is interesting, but it works, as you color-match it to yellow with a slight white wavy line that matches the rest of the artwork nicely. The purple box behind the quote made the text readable, and I agree it does not need to be transparent.
If you change anything, I’d make the quote text just a little bit bigger to make it easier to read. Other than that, great job!
