Hi Sinbad, your video was so fun! I was impressed by your variation in pacing and precise cuts between assets. Your use of the spoken word written on the screen added to the dramatic effect of the message, and I especially enjoyed all the apocalyptic images paired with the electric guitar at the end.
My interpretation of the video is that, if left unchecked, AI/robots will sow chaos and destruction into the world— the sick irony being that humans will have been the reason for the destruction because they invented them. One suggestion I have is to shorten the beginning sequence of images so that the point is made faster – many of them repeat, but I feel that showing them once was already very effective.
Hi Sinbad! To me the clear theme is that of the development of technology and a hypothetical world where technology overtakes the humans. The images you chose complemented the theme very well. I liked that there was some repetition of the images to reinforce the point. The spoken word element added to the eery tone of the video. I liked that you provided those text elements as well to break up the images. I also enjoyed the post-apocalyptic sequence towards the end, it added to the drama of the video.
Hi Sinbad! I’m really impressed, this definitely felt like a music video! I’m not sure if I agree with the others, though, that the video and its message evoked fear over the malicious potential of robotic technology. To me, the whole thing seemed like a question about sentience and technology, as well as what we as humanity are aiming to achieve by creating sentience. I think this is because the images of robots were of very humanlike, almost friendly appearance and there weren’t really any images of chaos or destruction. The music itself also seemed dreamy, rather than intense. I’m curious as to which description better fit your original idea.
